So, I have a question for everybody. If you click on someone's VisaJourney timeline, it says at the bottom, something like this:

Based on timeline data, your I129f may be adjudicated between January 28, 2014 andFebruary 6, 2014*.

If this date range has passed or your application is past due per USCIS processing times then you should consider calling the USCIS to inquire on your petition.

But, when you check with the USCIS times, it says 5 months for 129F's. But my VisaJourney timeline says I should get an NOA2 between February 5 - February 14.

So my question is - should I call them after the 14th if we haven't gotten yet? Or should I wait 5 months until May to call??

Confused!

Hi Jim,

Visa journey is just providing you an estimate of what the system thinks when you should receive your NOA2, you sent your application to USCIS so you have to wait for uSCIS time frame of 5 months for processing. If doesn't hurt to call USCIS but i am sure they will say that you haven't completed the regular 5 months of processing time frame.

Hi Jon York,

Good question. I think it doesn't hurt to try calling them if your estimated VJ timeline is passed but you haven't heard any news yet. At least you'll receive some feedback when you call, rather than just sit there and be nervous.

Our estimated timeline for noa2 is about 2 weeks behind you and we are at TSC. I hope you'll get approved before or right on Feb 14 that would be much excited for both of you. I wish you and everybody here best of luck.

USCIS will forward your approved I-129F package to the NVC where it awaits to be sent to the US Consulate in Saigon. After receiving the package, the consulate will send you Packet 3 to complete, which you will send back to them. Then comes the interview letter (aka Packet 4) which is usually a month before the actual interview. You will need this interview letter for your medical exams. It usually takes anywhere from 90 to 120 days from Packet 3 to Packet 4.

Hi Ck207,

Below is the checklist that I prepare for my fiance to get an idea of what we need to do after his I-129F is approved. As you already received your noa2, you need to prepare and send those documents to your fiancee once completed, so she can review in advance and bring them with her at the interview.

1. Copy of the Entire I-129F Package

2. Original Letter of Intent (dated much closer to the interview)
3. I-134 (Affidavit of Support Form)
4. Items Needed for the Above Form. Gather duplicate evidence of income and resources as appropriate:
4.1. Bank account information
Statement from an officer of the bank/financial institution with your deposits, identifying the following: 1. date account opened; 2. total amount deposited for the past year; 3. present balance
4.2. Letter from Employer
Statement(s) from your employer on business stationary showing: 1. Date and nature of employment; 2. salary paid; 3. whether position is temporary or permanent
4.3. Recent Pay Stubs & Tax Returns
Include copies of your last two pay stubs and your previous W-2 for the associated employer if available
5. Copy of the NOA2 (that you received in the mail)
6. Proof of Ongoing Relationship
Include photos, travel documents, emails, online chat logs, etc.. from between the time you filed and present (NOA1 until date-now).
(Section: What to send to your fiance(e) once the I-129F is approved (Receive NOA2): )

I hope this helps. Please correct me if I miss something everybody.

I'm curious, for the banking information, letter from employer and recent pay stubs is for the petitioner correct? not the beneficiary? I'm the beneficiary and I don't want to give too much notice at my job, especially until I have my visa in my hand.

Correct, for the petitioner, not beneficiary.

After checking the USCIS website, we found that our petition was approved today, February 5, 2014. We had not receive an email notification for the NOA2 (although we did for the NOA1). Hopefully it doesn't take too long for our information to be passed onto NVC and then the Consulate.

I hope it's not too long for other December filers to get their NOA2 as well.

Hi Ck207,

At this step, your case will be forwarded to the National Visa Center (NVC) by your Service Center. One to two weeks after you receive the noa2, you (the petitioner) can start calling the NVC to see if they have received your approved I-129f package and to get your new case number.

As far as I know, you can check your case update on USCIS website when it is shipped to NVC and will receive a letter by mail when your case is forwarded to the listed Embassy. It will have the new case number in it too.

Once you have the case number from NVC, you can use it to trace the case at:

https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx?eQs=o/iS8zDpeAKjMWCuebHqOw==

Meanwhile, you should be getting everything together for the above mentioned I-134 affidavit of support (AOS) and all supporting documents needed for the beneficiary for the interview.

I honestly don’t know much about the co-sponsor stuff. But I saw a very interesting post with great information that I think it would help regarding your concerns. The organizer did has a great explanation on how the affidavit of support/co-sponsor works and what documents and proof are needed to meet the requirements.

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/473556-questions-about-affidavit-of-supportco-sponsor/

Good luck.
