they said in about three weeks she will have the visa, but we opted to go and get the visa at Domex hoping to save time. I am still prepared for three weeks more or less. Then, when she has the visa in her hand, i will buy a round trip ticket for myself and a one way ticket for her. Hopefully i can work it out to take a week of vacation here in the DR upon my return. This visit for the interview was only a couple of days, going back to work Wednesday!

We're so sad. My fiancee was supposed to have had her interview last Friday! It's so hard sitting here thinking that she would have received her visa probably next week sometime and been here shortly thereafter! But when she went to her medical just the week before they told her that since she had had TB seven years ago she had to be re-tested for it. And do you know how long that stupid test takes? It takes TWO MONTHS!!! So now we have to just sit around aimlessly waiting for a whole 'nuther two months! And God only knows when the interview will be rescheduled after that - probably another one to two months.

I am sorry to hear about that little speed bump but hopefully everything will go smoothly from here on out.

I know everyone is different but here is my deal with DR:

embassy received on July 31 and CEAC changed to "ready"

I called today and they said they just submitted/entered everything on 9/3

They said I should hear by the end of this week but then she said OR within 4 weeks from 9/3???

She also stated that the published list of interviews through October is not finite and we could still interview in October, which I believe to be untrue.

Every time I call they assure me we will be notified by email.

Hope that helps!

well i called today, and raymond's first question was if i was waiting for my second interview. I said no, I'm waiting for my first one!

he said he was going to file a report so that they can speed up the process on giving me an interview. That this would help get things done faster. My information was in the system but nothing of a mention of an interview. I guess he probably thought it should of been given by now. I hope. He said it can take from 4 to 6 weeks. if i do not hear from them within 6 weeks to call. obviously ill call before hand. I'm going to call later this week. Thursday.
