Hi all, I was notified on august 11th that my petition was shipped to the NVC. I'm a little confused as to what happens next. Do I contact them myself in a week and ask for a case number or will they contact us? How do we find out the case number to track it.

NVC will scan your case into their system and forwards it to your embassy/consulate. I would wait 2-3 weeks from the notice's date that they sent it to NVC to call NVC for your case #, then you can track it online.

Question, how do you know when embassy has recived your case.

You might have to email or call your embassy to find out.

What I would recommend is go to the CEAC website and keep an eye on the Status Update Date (see the Red box in the pic below). Right now it is probably showing the date that your Embassy received the electronic file. Keep watching that date. The next time it updates to a newer date, I would say that's when they actually receive your physical file.

Whoa. I saw that you got approved on 7/24 and they have just now sent your case to NVC? It's been almost a month.
