I have a question, will I get a text message when they make decision on my RFE or will I have to wait to get it in the mail?

You should get an alert once they've approved your petition. But some people didn't get any text/email even though they did sign up for the alert so keep watching that USCIS website.

I found out by checking their web site, and eventually received a hard copy a week later.

It is unfair.

I wish they could make the entire processing more transparent.

It's bit random as to which case gets processed.

I also have not received any paperwork from NVC... and they received and assigned my case # on 7/10. The next step would be to keep checking CEAC... it took about 6 days for mine to go from saying "At NVC" to saying "In Transit".

When you see that its in transit don't bother calling NVC, i made that mistake last night because the text at the bottom indicated that they had already assigned my interview date. For a K-1 visa, that is not the case. Just keep checking though to see that its on its way to the foreign embassy.

Can you all imagine trying to do all this in the days before the internet! Look at how many of us have gotten information online that we haven't yet gotten in the mail. We know so much sooner thanks to the internet than we would have known by mail!

Without the internet, I think most of us would have had to have hired lawyers because we would have had no way of learning how the process works. We'd have no idea what the next steps are or anything. And we'd certainly have no idea where we fall in the processing timeline if we couldn't see what's happening to others online!

We got text messages and emails for both NOA2 and NOA2. For the NOA2 though we got the text and email about 15 minutes after they updated it on the site! So for those of you who obsessively check the site every 5 minutes - this is a good reason to continue!!

Hi everyone, at 7pm today received an email and text that they received the information I sent to them concerning the RFE for the Letters of Intent to marry. now its under review. SInce the rep of my congressman asked for all and any information to be sent to her I sent her the email. She will followup with them to see how long they will take.

I hope soon I hear a response. Keeping my fingers crossed.

You can easily see that from people's timeline.

In my case, it took less than 2 weeks.

Mine took 2 days from In Transit to Ready and when I contacted my consulate, they told me that they received the electronic file first, and should receive the physical file in 1-2 weeks. CEAC sent it on 7/14 and consulate received it 7/16. They received the physical file yesterday 7/21.

Btw, it goes from In Transit --> Ready. I don't think there is a Received status.
