Packet 3 to Packet 4 timeframe

How long has it been taking to recieve the packet 4 email after returning the packet 3 documents? We are going on 3 weeks now without an email. Looking at others timelines, it seems like most people are hearing back in half this time. I also emailed the consulate using the form, and have not heard back. yet.

1. signup at ustraveldocs.com/cn yet?

2. pay the visa fee at CITIC bank yet ?

handle those 2, nowish, this week, then with the CITIC receipt #, should be able to schedule something.

Thanks for the reply. So, how do we do the medical without the packet 4 email? I thought we had to have the email to do the things you mentioned.

I think he means create an account.. I did way before anything (back in September).. then you can just log in your case (or cases, in my situation) and can pay the fee... You just can't schedule yet because you might have to cancel.. and after two cancellations you need to pay the fee again.. you don't need the P4 email to do either of what he says. For medical you do need the P4 (Visa Instructions) Email though..

Ok, it will be done today. The information they send out, and put on ustraveldocs makes it seem like you can't do this until they send the packet 4 email.

i know. it's very strange, and there's a huge disconnect.

in essence -

They do it at the interview, but I would make sure to ask the person doing the fingerprinting if the fingerprints are correct and acceptable, my fiancee did hers during her scheduled interview, but we had to return again weeks later just to redo them over, they never told us why but we just did as they told. It did cost us more money to have to fly back there just for prints. There is no escaping their requests.

The emails I have sent in via the web form have not been returned and there is no phone number anywhere that I can find that has anyone at the other end. Is there any way to figure out what in the hell is going on there and make things happen?

Do you have a copy of your DS-160? Double check the email address for typos. I had both of our emails put in and P4 arrived to both. Just a thought.

Sorry to ask and don't mean to hijack conquestdz's thread, but I am in the same boat. Our time line is almost exactly the same as hthunter's - packet 3 docs sent and signed for/received by the embassy on October 7, 2013. No email as of yet - nothing. So we are three months out and nothing? Will this step fix that? We are scratching our heads because her friend has already gotten her interview middle of November. I don't know who to contact on this and my lawyer is not helping me at all. Any help would be appreciated.

We did self schedule, not sure if that was correct or not, but her physical exam required more tests, so we did not go to the interview. I sent in an email on their website about that, and also did not get a response on that one. If we schedule again after she gets the test results and go without ever having a p4 email, what happens?
