I am scheduled to give my biometrics tomorrow at the Dallas office (December 4, 2013). I hope everything will be alright.

Is it excruciatingly painful to give these biometrics or is it just going to be a quick deal?

Coming up: my OPT card will expire on December 12, 2013 and we will be starving this Christmas without our needed paycheck. I will have to stay home and be unable to do anything until I will receive my work authorization (EAD) card that will allow me to return back to work.

Let's make a bet: tell me your estimated date when I will receive my EAD card and the person who guesses the closest date wins $1!

It just takes like 5 minutes. You will have your fingerprints taken a picture and done.

After your biometrics you will receive your EAD in 2 months from that date.

The biometrics were just as easy as they can be... They just took scans of my fingerprints, made me sign on a pad and took a picture. That's about it...

Now I need to wait for their approval.... which I really hope it will be before the end of the year... Meanwhile life will really suck for both of us without me being able to work.

If you changed your name as a result of getting married, bring your marriage certificate. Or valid picture ID that has your married name on it.

by the way when i get there, do i need to fill up some form or just palinly fingerprint and photo taking? if there is what information they ask for from the form?

for the marriage cerificate does it need to be the certified copy or original is fine? coz we sent the certified copy of it with our aos application.

did they ask for ssn, alien no. , receipt no, info from i-94 etc? just wanna make i know everything they ask for from the form.

You need to fill in a form when you get there: full name, date of birth, height, weight, hair colour, eye colour, phone number, application number(s), alien number, SSN (only if you don't have an alien number, which shouldn't apply in your case). So you'll either know the information already or they will be on your appointment letter.

Photocopy of the marriage certificate should be fine. Though you might get a guard who is a bit pedantic. If they question it, just explain that you sent your original with the application and only have a photocopy.

Oh and they don't verify your height and weight, so your best guess is fine.
