Hi

I got married in April, 2013. My husband filed the I-130 and I-129F in April/May, 2013. Both the petitions are still pending. I have a B-1/B-2 with me. Please help us by answering the following questions:

1. Can I travel to the US on the B-1/B-2 visa if I-130 and I-129F are pending? If yes, what all documents should I carry with me to show to the Immigration Officers at the Port of Entry?

2. Does my travel to the US to visit my husband affect the petitions approvals and further processes in any which way?

Thanks a ton!

You can visit. As always, you will need to show that you will leave before the I-94 expires and act in accordance with the tourist visa.

It will have no impact on your petitions.

AOS for my husband
8/17/10: INTERVIEW DAY (day 123) APPROVED!!

ROC:
5/23/12: Sent out package
2/06/13: APPROVED!

You should be able to visit, but make sure you have enough evidence showing that you will return back to India, I would carry return tickets with you so just incase they ask you at POE

I will not let anyone walk through my mind with their dirty feet.

My husband is coming for the Christmas / New Years holidays from India as well. We filed our I130 in Aug. He is carrying a copy of his return ticket showing he is departing US for India on Jan 2 and he also got a letter from his HR (he works for IBM) stating that he has been employed for more than 3 years and due to report back on Jan 6 from his vacation.
