London embassy

Well, assuming all is well and no AP, they'll quote you 10 working days to get your passport back (often sooner, but you'll be hitting the Christmas bank holidays anyway). You can leave as soon as you've got it. Could be NYE in the USA.

We received our final packets just under two weeks from our interview date. That was in the summer so there might be some seasonal fluctuations. You can leave for the US as soon as you have your packet.

Best wishes

Laura

Hi everyone,

Finally got my interview on 20th December! How long do you think it will be before I'm able to move to the US (assuming all goes well)?

Cheers! Mike

Hi Mike, at the end of the interview the officer will tell you if your visa is approved, we'll assume you got it, then they will send to a DHL office of your choice the package that you take to inmigration officer at port of arrival in the U.S. and your passport with the visa to enter the U.S. for you you to pick up, in there you'll find instructions to pay US$ 165.00,on line, after that, you can travel to the US as soon as you get your ticket, congrats At least thats the way they do it here in Lima my wife just got hers on the 9th, and we are leaving for Ft Lauderdale on the 20th,of December

Good luck

Phoned for medical appt - 23 Sept 2013
Medical - 24 Sept 2013
Pkt 3 returned - 15 October 2013 (cover letter requesting interview after 3 Dec due to travel)

Interview letter from Embassy reccd - 20 Nov 2013

Interview Date - 9 Dec 2013 - all went well
