My driver's license expired in January, so I visited the DMV twice already and show them my NOA letter but they are not ready to read it but instead the supervisor there says that the letter can be tossed and told me come back after I receive the new green card. I thought they mistook the NOA letter with the regular green expiration so I tried to explain to them of the situation but could because they just didn't let me talk. After the second attempt I just got frustrated and thought I would wait for the decision on i 751 application, but it's been 6 months already and the status is still initial review (with no update at all). This is getting too much frustrating, can't drive, don't know what's going with the application to remove the condition...

For right now, I really need to renew my driver's license. I need suggestion on how to approach this issue.

Also, as I am new to this site, I couldn't find the right place to post such a question. Anybody who know this site better please help move this to the right place.

guys,

I got approved in 10th June, received approval letter in 11th and the decision date written on the letter was 7th June. i got another online update which says they mailed out my card at 13th. i have a question about tracking information as the online update doesn't have any. talked to USCIS representative and they said, i will get another online update with tracking information. how does it usually takes to get the card in hand? Also, if its mailed out at 13th, shouldn't i be receive it within this week ? thank you

Congratulations, Roki. 8-10 business days of wait for the new card wouldnt hurt... :dancing: When your card. Once USPS sent out your card, they will inform USCIS and they will update your status. Hang in there. You will have it very soon. Cheers

Which state are you in? You might want to call USCIS directly and explain the nature of your situation. They might be able to offer a better advisement. You should get a driver's license that expires based on the date on your extension letter. My License has the same expiration date as my extension letter. My DMV didnt refuse the letter though.

I'm a January filer and called uscis yesterday to inquire about my case they told me they are currently working on December 2nd cases.

Thanks buddy. i got to make travel arrangement and was actually planning to travel with the extension letter. However, things has been changed! I got another update yesterday which says, usps picked up my card and its on the way :)

Though I am not much of a posting reply/messages myself, I always look into the updates on this thread and thanks all of you guys for your comforting words and help. thanks again!

Thanks for the reply. I am in the state of Mississippi. I had really bad experiences at the DMV here. I also posted this question on the other forum on this site and people there suggested to go to the USICS office and get I-551 stamped on my passport. So, I went online and got me an infopass appointment for this comming friday. I will explain them of the situation and hope to the stamp on the passport.

By the way, what's up with your I-751 application status. Mine is the same as it was on the 1st day. :(

Hope your infopass appointment goes well. Once you get your passport stamped, you should be good to take care of your DL issue. As for the case update, welcome to the wait list. Hope your infopass appointment goes well. Once you get your passport stamped, you should be good to take care of your DL issue. As for the case update, welcome to the wait list. Hopefully once your case gets approved, your case status will be updated online for the most part. However, some people received their apprpoval letters without any update. So lets keep our fingers crossed.

Hey, my infopass went well today, I guess. Got I-551 stamp on my passport that's valid till March 20th, 2015. I am planning to visit the DMV next week, hope that goes well as well. :)

I just found out that the DMV here in Mississippi don't accept the I-551 and instead they asked me to bring the I-94. I don't get it.

I also had started discussion about this at this location - http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/501336-i751-noa-not-accepted-at-dmv/?p=7091178.

Do you have any suggestion?
