Hello,

I have couple of questions about the K-1 process:

1. After my fiance and I get married, how do we update/prove that we got married within the 90 days?

(ie; is there another form to send other than AOS ?)

2. Is my foreign fiance allowed to quit his job (I'm his sponsor) after he is approved for the k-1 visa, and has the visa in hand?

(my fiance is moving here to the USA to marry me, and we are filing for AOS. For this reason he understandably felt he should

give his job 2 weeks notice before he leaves for America to marry me and start our lives together. Is he allowed to quit his

job, since I am his sponsor?)

Thanks,

Layla

**** Moving from K1 to AOS from Family visa as question is about what happens after the K1 ****

1. You will need to send the marriage cert as part of the AOS paperwork. See: http://www.visajourney.com/content/k1k3aos

2. He can quit his job now if he wants. his employment does not matter, only yours as the US citizen sponsor.

1. You prove you have got married within the 90 days by sending a certified copy of your marriage certificate with your AOS paperwork (along with lots of other things).

2. Er slightly confused with this question. If he is leaving the UK to emigrate to the US to marry you, then he will need to quit his job (unless he is lucky enough to be working for an international company and can transfer to the US). Depending on how quickly you want to proceed, personally I would give notice once he is approved in London. He should have his visa within those 2 weeks. Make sure that he does give the correct amount of notice as he will need good references for jobs in the US.
