Hi vj family. I wonder if someone could possibly help me to connect with NSO in the Philippines.

I have a 6 year old daughter who's still in the Philippines and it's killing me not to have her with me in US. Although we Skype often and we pay for her school, I would preferred that she's w me, with my husband and her step kuya. She's so excited to come here.

Here's the situation, due to her birth certificate problem she wasn't able to come here. A month after I arrived in US we have applied for the correction of her BC (I know I should have done that before I came here, I regret but due to the circumstances back then I couldn't do it) anyway, the petition for her BC correction got approved on MAY. I have hired an atty to help our case and went back to Philippines for the hearing. On October 2013 my husband filed a petition for stepdaughter. November I did set an appointment for her passport application in phil. I've sent the documents that dfa wants (SPA, Consent, and affidavit of illegitimacy) so when they were at dfa my mom sent me a message and told me that DFA denied to issue a passport for my little girl because they are saying that the annotation on my daughter BC is wrong. Now my mom is going back and forth to the LCR, court and NSO. She said NSO is being pain in the a** they are rejecting her and claiming that they cannot retype the annotation because it is being scanned In the system. I understand that but on tbe first place it's their mistake. They should have type it correctly and check it very well before they released the birth certificate. I feel like I have invested lot of money to fix my daughter docs but yet it's not over. We still need to deal with the government. I feel sorry for mom because she's the one who's doing a lot of leg work. I know how stressful it is.

I hope someone could help me to speed up the process. I have checked my daughter's petition on uscis website and it says that they have transferred my daughte's petition to our local uscis who has the jurisdiction of her case. I'm praying that there's no delay or RFE.

Pray for our case. I miss my daughter. :((

TIA vj family. Hope to hear from you soon.

These govt employees can do anything IF they want to. Obviously they are waiting for "lagay". I never give lagay myself when dealing with govt agencies ... I just use my "charm" ... hehehe. If it fails ask your lawyer for help.

I know. I wish they will be more open. If they want a bribe I'd be more willing to do so, even though it's their fault. I just want this to be over.I'm tired dealing with them. When I was still in Phil I remember how many times I went back to DFA and NBI to get my passport. Gosh it was a nightmare travelling and stressing out every single day.

Unfortunately my lawyer have moved in US. There's nothing he can do now. :(

Don't lose hope and stay positive! i am sure there is a solution! You just feel frustrated because you miss her--so just be patient. You know how it is with us here in the Philippines--it can be slow and inconvenient.

All my 4 kids have annotations on their birth certificates--from date of our wedding, husband's full name, husband's name spelling, and so on and so forth...about 3 corrections PER birth cert! but it went smooth at the DFA...I don't know what went wrong there with your daughter if you can give exact details maybe we could be more of help.

Talking to the directors, and department heads and telling them of the urgency of your daughter's case should do the trick. We had that with my dad's papers--we were sent back and forth, finally we got all upset and we talked to the department head themselves...and voila! It did the trick and done! Sometimes--file and rank can't decide like that...

I do not know what was wrong with the annotation on the BC to make them decide it is not possible--I could just easily give them a visit to ask for advice if I knew exactly what went wrong. You can PM me if you think--you do not have to give the exact details--you can just give me an example of the problem--so I know how to help you pin down the problem.

Also? What region is she in?

What part of the annotation was wrong specifically? I know someone from NSO but I need more details about your problem so I can relay it to her better. Although I'm more worried that the petition was sent back to USCIS. I read that petitions there are just left untouched to expire because of the "line". So sorry to hear you're having trouble getting your kid :(

I would go over their head and make a campaign contribution to someone that can help you, (i.e., governor or congressman). It will probably be cheaper than a lawyer in the long run. I'm not speaking from experience :)
