Hello. I need help with something. My fiance currently lives in Pakistan. I sponsored him to come to the US on July 2011. He completed his interview on March 2012. Ever since then, he has been in AP. Recently, on October 25, 2013, my Fiance got an email saying that he needs to get a second medical examination done as well as send in the DS-230 and the DS-156 forms because they have been expired. He submitted all of the documents that they requested on November 6, 2013. I know that after a year (they probably have changed it now), you need to redo your medical examination, so that's why he had to do it. My question is that has anyone gotten experience on having to do a second medical examination and they or their fiance is from Pakistan? How long does it take after submitting the documents again to get the visa or a call saying that to get the passport?

We have been waiting for this visa for over 2 1/2 years, so any kind of advice would really help. I know that I have read and heard from people that it should not take long now, but I really would appreciate it if someone went through this same experience and could tell me an exact timing of how long it took. I know that it is not the same for everyone, but it helps to have an estimate.

Thanks!

P.S. Here is the email if anyone wants to see it:

Please note that your medical examination, DS-230 and NIV Application DS-156 forms have all expired. Please obtain a new medical examination from the panel physician and submit it along with new visa photos and a new DS-230 and NIV application DS-156 form (sign and date both forms) and send to the U.S Embassy Islamabad.

Just because the embassy asks for fresh documents doesn't mean his AP will end anytime soon. You have to wait and pray and keep checking the ceac website to see if they are working on your case. My husband was asked for fresh documents in March and they were received by the embassy in April. They stopped working on our case until October. It's December and we are still in AP.

I am not trying to be mean I just don't want you to get your hopes up and be disappointed like we were.
