Hi Saylin i have a quick question for you

I've got a checklist from NVC today, asking me to send AOS package. But i sent it month ago with IV package together.

I read in the beginning of your threads about false checklists from NVC

I dont know should i send AOS again or no?

And if it is a false checklist how long does it take to get case completed after getting it.

I really appreciate your help

Go read the FAQ again ;) There's an exact question on this and your answer lies there.

The false checklist doesn't tell you how much longer until case complete. It just tells you one package has been reviewed. NVC operators are saying 30 business days for packages to be reviewed, although more often than not, it's faster than that.

Thank You

If you are approved you have the New Immigrant Fee to pay of $165 but you can pay it anytime after you receive your visa up to 1 year. The green card won't be produced until it's paid however.

The medical records are usually sealed and depending on where you go and your country they're either, mailed directly to the embassy, picked up by the beneficiary and hand carried, or mailed to the beneficiary and hand carried. Check in your regional forum but I think waiting for them in the mail in Sweden is how it's normally done.

USCIS first has to send the case to NVC, then it has to actually get there. Then it'll likely sit in the mail room for a few weeks, then it'll finally be processed and a case number assigned. So, maybe by the end of December you'll have a case number. If not, January.

It takes up to 8 weeks to be transferred from a service center to the NVC and then up to 20 business days to get your numbers. Now normally it's about a month then another few weeks but it can take that long.

Our timelines are pretty similar. I got NOA2 18 Nov, and when I called NVC today 12-5-13, they said they received it yesterday 12-4-13 (to be honest, yesterday was the FIRST day I had NOT called NVC to check status, and that's the day something changed - maybe I'll NOT call them more often LOL). So expect within a week or two. Even though they tell you 8 weeks, it's more like 2-3 weeks to receive the case (like another user said, it waits in the mail room until they scan it into their system), then another 2-4 weeks to assign a case number.

Hey thanks for sharing, good to know. May be I won't call them this week ( I have been calling everyday). My NOA2 date is 11/25/13 so may be from next week I will call them.

Two questions:

1 - For those of you that bring photos to the embassy interview of you and your spouse together, how many photos would you typically take? And if they're digital, what's the best way to present those? Most of my photos are digital and so I could just print them out on paper as color copies, but didn't know if that was a good idea, or if there are better ideas out there for that. Any better ideas?

2 - For anyone that has chat logs on Facebook or Skype, is there an easy way to download that information to take to embassy interview? Or better ideas on how to share that information with embassy for interview?

Thanks!

Hi Guys!!

Just checking in. My wife got approved 11/29(NSC) and on 12/02 got notice that case was shipped to NVC.

I read all the guides and had a few queries. I hired a lawyer to do this whole process(and yes dumb move on my part). This was before I found vj smile.png How does this process change with the lawyer involved? Will it add some more time? I called him and asked about whether he is signed up for Electronic Processing, and sure enough he is not. I am guessing this will cause delays in my case? Also, once my case gets assigned, can I still call and give mine and my wife's email address so the packet IV arrives via E-mail? Or does the Packet IV still go by snail mail to the beneficiary?

I just don't want the lawyers process and my process to clash and cause issues.

Thanks for all the help.

I hope your lawyer will be faster than we have. For us, it SLOW DOWN the process BIG TIME!!!

OK, I am pissed and probably hurting myself in these responses. just got a e-mail from NVC saying please scan your 797letter

from USCIS and send to us. We will then research why we have not received it. uscis STATED THEY SENT IT ON November 22, 2013.

I e-mailed a notice to expedite, and gave them my receipt number. Why do they need a scan of that receipt number, I gave it to them. THEY have the number in my e-mail. My wife is from the Philippine's and I am trying to get her out of that country.

I served my country and now my country deserted me.
