Last month, when I was opting in for Montreal EP. My wife sent an email to opt-in from her account and received a response from NVC almost right away, however, when I sent it, I did not receive a response until 10-14 days after. I don't know what the deal is or why it takes so long. Make sure you send opt-in e-mails from both, petitioner and beneficiarys emails.

Thanks! I just did that as well. Fingers crossed.

thank you so much NLR and SAYLIN for your responce .

1-so for the Tax transcripts do you mean form 1040 ?if yes is this form enough to prove the income ?

whats schedule C ?

-the joined sponcer (self-employed) have form 1040 what else he need to provide to prove income and self-employment.

-is it the total income (line22 in form 1040) that we include on form i-864 where they ask about annual individual income nd last 3years incomes ?

-BTW can i add a photo album with IV PACKAGE.?

YOU are all great here lightening up our queries .

Hi Everyone!

We'll be having our interview out of Montreal and have opted in for Electronic Processing.

I sent my OPTIN email about 2 weeks ago to NVCElectronic@state.gov.

Still no response from them (except the auto response) ...

Is this normal? I'm thinking we should have gotten some type of confirmation by now.

Just curious about other people's experience with OPTIN emails.

At this point all of our information is compiled/forms completed. We're just waiting to be accepted for Electronic Processing. ClockWatch2.gif

You can also send the OPTIN with the supervisor thing we used to do for the DS-3032. Not sure if Saylin has that floating around somewhere? Check some of the NVC threads prior to Sept 2013.

Hi folks! I'm so glad that I came across this forum. You guys are all great!

Just wondering if anyone has requested to opt in Electronic Processing lately? I've sent my optin email November 20th and so far haven't received any confirmation email from NVC for the new EP case number. It seems kinda slow compared to other members on this forum. I called NVC the representatives told me there's no time frame for EP request.

NVC has just taken the AOS fee from my bank account. I'm confused as whether to send the AOS package in plain mail or wait for EP to complete and send AOS in email?

Advice is more than welcome! Thanks in advance!

Are you eligible for the EP? If so then I suggest waiting for the OPTIN to be accepted or else it will take twice as long to add the AOS to your case.

thank you so much NLR and SAYLIN for your responce .

1) no a tax return transcript is a two page (or double sided page) document that you get from the IRS that gives the NVC everything they need to know about your taxes. It is not the 1040.

2) he will need to send in his ENTIRE tax return. EVERYTHING.

3) Yes.

4) yes you can but remember that the NVC puts everything into a legal sized folder. Try to make it fit. wink.png

I'm not sure that would work as I heard that 'OPTIN' has to be at the very beginning of the subject line since the system automatically grabs it. If 'Supervisor Review' was added to the beginning, then the system wouldn't catch it. Although, now that I think about it, if 'Supervisor Review' was added to the beginning, then an actual person would review it and probably manually have the case switched to EP. So, ya, that might work rofl.gif

Or put OPTIN MTLXXXXXXXX Supervisor review?

I'm not sure that would be caught by a supervisor then. It'd probably have to be right at the beginning, as I'm guessing it's some kind of automated system as well, with whatever is at the beginning. But, this is all speculation of course, as I don't know 100%, just from what I've gathered here on VJ.

I think it took 2-3 weeks for my optin to come in... If I remember correctly. I was annoyed, that much I remember anyhow!!! LOL

Ok just a quick update for my fellow VJs. So the NVC and Embassy in Honduras approved my expedite on Monday after hounding them right before Thanksgiving. NVC mailed it out on Tuesday and thanks to you guys I figured out the tracking number and see that my package is at Panama sorting center around noon today. I am hoping that they receive it by the end of the week and I can get an interview for my wife within a week or two. I hope things move quickly for everyone as well.

Hi Saylin i have a quick question for you

I've got a checklist from NVC today, asking me to send AOS package. But i sent it month ago with IV package together.

I read in the beginning of your threads about false checklists from NVC

I dont know should i send AOS again or no?

And if it is a false checklist how long does it take to get case completed after getting it.

I really appreciate your help

Saylin- so when I finished with my medicals, I was told I will receive it in the mail- and will have to take with me to the embassy, and not to open their copy. Is that how it is usually done? Also, is there any other fees that are coming up - anything needs to be paid at the embassy or even after visa is issued?

thank you.

If you are approved you have the New Immigrant Fee to pay of $165 but you can pay it anytime after you receive your visa up to 1 year. The green card won't be produced until it's paid however.

The medical records are usually sealed and depending on where you go and your country they're either, mailed directly to the embassy, picked up by the beneficiary and hand carried, or mailed to the beneficiary and hand carried. Check in your regional forum but I think waiting for them in the mail in Sweden is how it's normally done.

Can you find out?

NLR, are you asking me? I don't know if I can find out. These were my husband's employers from long ago. I'm going to do a bit of sleuthing to see if I can, but my guess is no. I just want to be prepared if I can't. Then I need to know what he needs to write in that space.
