Thank you! I'm lucky...my hubby is planning to come for Christmas. He was able to come in and out last month on a business trip to the USA (East coast though, so I didn't see him.) But, will definitely enjoy our Christmas...and counting 16 days to seeing him! Also, saw your other post...congrats on getting an interview date!!! That's wonderful news! YAY!!!! dancin5hr.gif

SO SO SO happy to hear that!!1 goofy.gifdancin5hr.gif It seems like it takes so long...we think the NOA2 is the big thing, but this NVC piece has taken so long for many of us! Keep us posted and good luck! You'll be able to be together so soon!!!! What a great Christmas/New Year present!

I sent my packages immediately upon payment. I knew the funds were in the bank so wasn't worried. Had no problem. I just didn't want to delay any extra days. It should show as pending almost immediately.

I'm right there with you! Keep me posted on your status. I just sent the items from my checklist today. They arrive Wednesday. Hopefully they'll accept all of our IV paperwork too and we don't have a checklist on that. (But, I'm expecting the worst, just incase.) Good luck to you!!! dancin5hr.gif

Totally agree with you there! Totally stressful and they're so unhelpful and non communicative. You should call and ask for your case number. Have you been doing that? Once you have that, you can log in to the site.

I was calling every day at first, then switched to 2-3 times per week. Now that we're waiting to hear back about our IV and AOS packets, I was calling about 2-times per week. Well, I've learned that calling daily is a bit of a waste of time, because our checklist was generated and sent out within 2 days of my last call. I called on Tuesday night and they were closed for Thanksgiving. I got the checklist by email on Friday. That means that it was sent out within 2 days of my call...not bad. So, if you're at the point where you're waiting for checklists....I'd actually take a different perspective to what some recommend--I wouldn't recommend calling every day. Call maybe 2-times per week (beginning and towards the end of the week maybe.) If there's news in between, you'll get an email pretty quickly if you signed up for electronic updates. Just my 2-cents. I don't know about you, but sitting on hold for 30-45 minutes is not something I enjoy doing every night (nor have time for.) And it just adds to my stress. So, twice per week has been working for me. I hate to say it...but it looks like patience is truly a virtue at this point for all of us. I really thought this part of the process would have been faster. Looks like we have at least one more month in NVC at their current rate...and hopefully no more checklists.... Sorry you are in the same shoes! Good luck! good.gif

You received a checklist too for AOS? I'm sorry to hear that! I think you should be okay with the IV unless you chose not to include certain required docs. I got a false checklist for the IV but nOthing I need to worry about. You seem to be very thorough like me so hopefully you won't get one! I'm glad we get to see our husbands over the holiday even though things aren't finished yet. It helps for sure! My father was generous enough to pay my flight out there. I work for public schools so having a 10 day vacation and just sitting around doing nothing/not being with him over our anniversary would seriously be depressing! I know many VJers have had to spend anniversaries and holidays apart. Okay so now I'm ranting and I'll stop here lol.

yes the uscis said that it will take 30 days.. thank you, and nvc also send us an email that they has not yet receive the papers, and we have to wait for 8weeks from the date our petition got approved

Keep in contact with USCIS asking for a specific date when they ship your case. Once it's been confirmed with at least 3 different operators, then you can start calling NVC and seeing if they have your case.

Thanks Saylin,

So I will put my current individual income (my approximate income that I will earn in a year?) in I-864 part 6

In 6.a my husband current income (approximate income in a year?)

Then I will just add it and write the total in Part 6 number 10 is this right? My reference here is the employment verification and paystubs?

Second I am petitioning my mom, I will fill out I-184 and my husband will fill out the I-184a

Question in Part 2 number 13 ( sponsor promise) in I-864A my name will be written and I will sign in number 14? Or it is my husband's name and signature?

Then in Part 3, Household member will be my husband's name and he will sign it, right?

Thanks for the help

Hi Guys!!

Just checking in. My wife got approved 11/29(NSC) and on 12/02 got notice that case was shipped to NVC.

I read all the guides and had a few queries. I hired a lawyer to do this whole process(and yes dumb move on my part). This was before I found vj :) How does this process change with the lawyer involved? Will it add some more time? I called him and asked about whether he is signed up for Electronic Processing, and sure enough he is not. I am guessing this will cause delays in my case? Also, once my case gets assigned, can I still call and give mine and my wife's email address so the packet IV arrives via E-mail? Or does the Packet IV still go by snail mail to the beneficiary?

I just don't want the lawyers process and my process to clash and cause issues.

Thanks for all the help.

India does not have EP, only 3 countries do. You will only fill out 2 forms electronically, DS-261 and DS-260. Read the first 2 posts of the thread thoroughly.

The only difference really is that no DS-261 has to be filed as the lawyer is automatically selected as agent. Due to this, the IV bill will be invoiced at the same time as the AOS bill, shaving off a week or so (depending how fast you would have been). In most cases with lawyers though, it adds considerable amounts of time as they don't do things ASAP. They may take days/weeks to pay bills and send packages.

Yes, I'd suggest calling up and giving your email addresses, if you can. That way, all three of you can receive correspondence.

As another person mentioned, India is not eligible for EP. You can only snail mail packages to NVC.

Hi all, not yet in NVC but do have a question: is it recommended to include a cover letter with the IV packet?

It's recommended to include a cover letter with everything: I-130, AOS, IV, etc.

You need the tax return transcript. You can put in writing "did not file" and include a letter explaining why you did not file that year. You do not need anything form the IRS stating your didn't file.

I submitted the "choice of agent" form through email back in March. Do I need to re-submit the DS-261 now?

I wouldn't think so as they have your DS-3032 on file.

Saylin...I was reading the questions on the front page. I paid my $88 AOS fee and sent the documents they received them yesterday. I paid the $230 IV bill and it's cleared my bank but still shows In Process on CEAC....It's not allowing me to fill out the DS260 yet...is this normal? I guess I won't be able to fill it out until it shows paid??
