Saylin,

2 nights ago NVC tried to contact me but I missed the call, I tried to call them back and told me that my expedite request is approved and not to pay and submit any documents at NVC because they will forward it within 24 hrs at the embassy.

Question, since I never paid and submit anything at NVC when and where I will pay and submit it? I have all the civil documents here with me, should I sent it back to my mother so she can bring it to the interview or submit it there?

Thanks, so confuse about th diffrent process.

Once the embassy receives your case, contact them and they'll tell you what to do next. You'll likely have to bring the packages with you to the interview.

Of course there are criteria you need to meet to expedite, otherwise everyone would be requesting it. NVC's is similar, if not the same, as USCIS's: http://www.uscis.gov/forms/expedite-criteria

And what your husband did was wrong. If he was married, then he should have put married. Doesn't matter where in the world his spouse is. I'd suggest you tell him to amend it, pronto. NVC might not have any problems with it, but the embassy/consulate may as that's a big sign against proof of relationship. They might consider the case as being fraudulent.

I also worked abroad for about a year, and i have to get police record from that country. I just started requesting for it a few days ago, they said it will take 4 weeks so hopefully i'll get them on time so we will not delay the process. Fingers crossed.

And oh, another prob, i need to have it translated to english :/

4 weeks is way too long. Same here .... it will take about 20-30 business day :(. I suppose to leave next month but I guess not. :(. Also .. its Christmas break!! Then New Year!! Not a right time to get documents :(

I'm from Indonesia (the beneficiary), and my husband is a USC.

USCIS

06/04/2011: Got married in Surabaya, Indonesia

03/10/2013: (Some time at these dates) Filed I-130 through a lawyer

03/25/2013: Priority date, NOA1

11/08/2013: Case was transferred to Texas Service Center

11/16/2013: Case update: "was transferred and is now being processed at a USCIS office."

11/25/2013: NOA2. Post Decision Activity: APPROVED (by Texas Service Center)

12/05/2013: Received NOA2 in the mail.

12/19/2013: "Shipped this approved or re-affirmed case to the Department of State for visa processing."

NVC

01/03/2014: NVC received our case work.

03/26/2014: Called NVC and they said that there's an error on the affidavit support and they didn't get copy of my passport. This case, I blame our lawyer.

Yes, he can amend it to married, as I suggested.

I'm sorry, but this is not so easy as you make it sound. Its not like "oops, sorry IRS, I made a mistake, please tick the correct box for me."

When your spouse lives abroad you have to file them as non-resident alien (NRA), can't e-file, and there are a lot of small twists and turns. My father completed my returns for me while I was working on a cruise ship and he filed me as single. I'm terrified now that my case will be denied. I am pretty positive the IRS is not just going to let me "amend" the return to married especially in the case of an NRA spouse.

I never said it'd be easy. But if you were married and filed as single, then that's wrong. The first year I was married to my husband, I filed as a NRA spouse on my husband's tax forms. I jumped through the hoops and didn't complain as that was the right way of filing taxes.

12/04/13 case number and iin assigned

12/05/13 AOS bill paid

12/07/13 IV bill paid

12/09/13 AOS paid posted online

12/12/13 IV paid posted online

12/16/13 DS 260 filled

12/18/13 AOS package mailed overnight

12/20/13 IV package mailed from Macedonia to NVC

Now we have to wait to get case complete and scheduled interview.

Let go guys you can do it.Consular Electronic Application Center

Over here you can make the payments and file DS260 very ease and quick.

I wish everybody happy holidays and quick response from NVC.

When you file I-130 you wrote down the phone number and email address from the petitioner.

So nvc emailed us the case number and iin nuber.as soon as you get this you pay the bills if there are posted online.

In meantime before they send you this information file for police report ,because it took me 6 business days to get it.

Also after you make the payment check everyday does it posted online if it is you it will show that you can file DS260.

It will take you 1 hour to do it.

Instead of mailing to your spouse the package IV ,mailed straight to NVC you save money and time.
