Hi just checking in for the first time over here. NOA2 date Dec 11 - just received the hard copy notice today. Figure I'll call later this week to check if it's been received at NVC - hoping they get it before the Christmas break.

And I'm also curious about this 20th cutoff that was referred to - is that the USCIS government holiday vacation time?

Thanks for all the work you all do getting this info together - going through the first few pages of this board has been really helpful!!

Generally what has been seen is that interview dates are assigned towards the end of the month for cases that have been case completed by the 20th of that month. This is not official and there have been cases recently that interview dates have been assigned within a week.

From what I have seen happen to others who have been expedited....if you are approved for an expedite you will file all your fees and forms with your consulate. NVC would immediately send your file there.

Hi Saylin,

1- Would I be able to send my AOS and my IV packet via Fedex or UPS or must it be USPS?

2- As far as the civil documents needed for my father (the benificiary) is a marriage certificatestill required since he is a parent not a spouse?

Thanks in Advance for your reply

1. You can send it however you want. There's never been a restriction on what courier to use.

2. If this is an IR-5 case, then no a marriage certificate isn't required (unless he's married, which yes, you need to send it in).

Don't forget petitioner documents are needed in IR-5 cases: http://travel.state....ioner_documents

Hello Saylin,

Thank you once again for taking the time to respond to my questions. Yes I am referring to an IR-5 Case.

On the original I-130 petition I included a certified copy of the following:

copy of the petiotioners naturalization certificate

certified copy of the petitioners Birth Certificate

certified copy of the petitioners marriage certificate

certified copy of the benfeciaries marriage certificate

was I wrong to send the certified copies with the i130 packet? should I have just sent copies?

will i need to send these documents again on the IV packet?

Thanks,

Payment 1: $88 for the Affidavit of Support fee (I-864 etc) to the NVC

Payment 2: $230 for Immigrant Visa fee (DS-260 etc) to the NVC

All the NVC fees must be paid from a US bank account

Then pay whatever it costs for the medical for your country & panel physician after you have the interview scheduled. Very few countries allow advance scheduling of medicals without interview; most require the letter that you have an interview scheduled by the NVC. The medical fees are paid however the panel physician wants them paid. Generally by the beneficiary in person.

Yea i Know about the medical fee which is seperate. I was doing registration on the CO website for the document retrival its optional and not require. They were asking for the PAYMENT of 240 and was wondering what kind of payment do they want now.

Yes, you don't send originals/certified copies to USCIS, just photocopies. You'll have to obtain more certified copies of those documents as you'll need them for the IV package.

Sounds like you're in the wrong section. $240 is the fee for a K1.

According to the NVC, my checklist is for civil documents (which have been sent already), financial documents such as tax transcripts (also sent), and I have submitted the outdated DS-230 form (I already submitted the electronic DS-260 over 2 weeks ago).

Could this be a false checklist?

I am the petitioner.
