I'm confused when i call last week they tell me they received my file on dec 2 and when i call today they are telling me they received on dec 6.

now what's true

A question I can answer.. Haha

Dec 2 is the date your file arrived at the dock

Dec 6 is the date your file arrived in the building

That's what the nice lady told me when I asked her why I kept getting 2 different dates also.. She told me she usually always use the later date just to safe when trying to tell someone how long it will take to get a case number

Finished for now!!

NOA1 4-1-13

NOA2 11-14-13

NVC case # 12-9-13

Case complete 1-21-14

Interview 3-3-14

Visa Received 3-6-14

Just got off the phone after waiting for like 25 minutes. This lady was rude as ........ She was like do you have your approval notice, i was like yes i do...and what is the date on it, i said Dec 7...she was like can you read down where it says give us 30 days....i'm like yes i see that, i'm just calling because i know it can take a week, two or a month.

Then she goes, you are calling the right number sir, but it can take up to 8 weeks before we get your petition.I'm like ok whatever....

So instead of me wasting time and calling, when would you guys suggest that i should start calling NVC ?

IMO.. Calling everyday is a waste of time like I did.. But it gave me peace of mind..

If I had to give advice to one of my friends, I would say call once a week till NVC recieved the petition then add 1 week to that date and call every 2 days..

Please fill out your timeline!

You're not wasting your time. Call every day if you want. I call every day. Just know that some people are nice, and others can be very rude. Just ignore the rudeness, and keep on going. I can usually tell from the minute they say "thank you for calling NVC this is ..." whether they have a bad attitude or not. If they sound rude, I start off by saying "I know it's not been 8 weeks yet, and you may take that long, but I am calling just because I can, and my USCIS receipt number is ...." The rude people have stopped giving me the 'canned response' in return when I start my sentence basically telling them that I already know that. The nice people seem happy I called, and when I call and they tell me I still don't have a case number yet, they usually say "Well, is there something I CAN help you with since you've got me on the phone?" And they usually say "Just keep calling." Just like calling customer service with your cable/internet/phone/etc service, there are plenty of rude people, but that shouldn't stop you from calling for service. Just be patient.

I just called NVC and they said they are currently reviewing my new documents that were received on the 26th. The woman was a b*tch though. I said, "so how long should that take?" She said "30 business days." I told her I know that the whole process can take up to 30 business days but if my documents are PHYSICALLY being reviewed at this very moment by someone, should I expect that to occur within a few days? She gave me the same bullcrap response a few more times even though I rephrased my question in many ways..."30 business days." I hung up on her LOL. But seriously guys...if my new docs are currently under review, how long should that take?

I do not believe that check listed cases bypass the queue. So pretty much what she said 18-30 business days.

Lets hope you make it before the 20th cutoff.

I also agree that checklist cases don't bypass the queue. However I call twice a week...in the case that it does get reviewed sooner than what they say. The last few times I've called they have said "we received your packaged on the 26th. Please allow 30 business days for review." What was different this time was that the woman said it is currently under review. I asked her "so does that mean that it's been opened and sitting on someone's desk?" And she said yes. So this is movement....I think...

I am anxiously awaiting a case complete

I am just curious why others were billed for the AOS and IV fees with different dates? I was billed for AOS and IV fees same date and paid both same time online.

Only those with lawyers/attorneys have the bills invoiced at the same time as their lawyer/attorney is automatically assigned as agent, thus by-passing the DS-261 which adds some time to the process for the IV to be invoiced.

Hello,

Does the beneficiary has to pay $240 or what ever the amount for individual country. I thought we had paid for that amount with the DS260 and separate fee with the biometrics.

Hello,

Does the beneficiary has to pay $240 or what ever the amount for individual country. I thought we had paid for that amount with the DS260 and separate fee with the biometrics.

Payment 1: $88 for the Affidavit of Support fee (I-864 etc) to the NVC

Payment 2: $230 for Immigrant Visa fee (DS-260 etc) to the NVC

All the NVC fees must be paid from a US bank account

Then pay whatever it costs for the medical for your country & panel physician after you have the interview scheduled. Very few countries allow advance scheduling of medicals without interview; most require the letter that you have an interview scheduled by the NVC. The medical fees are paid however the panel physician wants them paid. Generally by the beneficiary in person.
