With joint sponsors:

- All of the above of the petitioner
- Completed, signed, and dated I-864 of joint sponsor
- Tax information* of joint sponsor (either just the last year OR the last 3 years)
- Proof of US citizenship/residency of joint sponsor (ex: copy of US passport, US birth certificate, US naturalization certificate, or front & back of green card)
- Employment letter of joint sponsor (optional, but good proof of CURRENT income)
- Pay stub(s) of joint sponsor (optional, but good proof of CURRENT income)

If the joint sponsor is a household/family member, also include proof of that relationship (example: if a parent is a joint sponsor, include the petitioner's birth certificate with parents' name on it to show link).

*You have two choices here of what to send in:

- Tax return transcripts ordered from IRS (preferred by NVC and of most consulates/embassies) RECOMMENDED
OR
- Tax returns (1040) and W2s and any other schedules (if applicable)

I was told the only form the co-sponsor needs to fill out is the I-134 Affidavit of Support. Now I'm reading an up-to-date list of what my fiance needs to bring to his interview and it's very confusing. I was told the co-sponsor only needs to fill out the I-864 after my fiance and I enter and marry in the U.S.

I never contacted the NVC after my NOA2 was approved. The case is already forwarded to Moscow. Do I still need to contact NVC? I'm not sure what I need to contact them about if the case is already in Moscow, my fiance filed out the DS-160 and made his interview appointment.

Thank you Saylin, Then i will include Total Income not Adjust Gross Income.

I have not filled taxes for 2010 as i came in US in 2011. Do you have any format to use for stating why i didnot filled taxes in 2010 for NVC?

I believe for the 1040A, it'd be the same as the 1040, so for both 2011 and 2012 you'd use total income. What form was used for 2010?

Checking in.

I've been getting mixed answers about the DS-260 and hard copies. I printed out a hard copy of the form just for my records. Does a hard copy, along with the confirmation page, need to be sent to the NVC?

I am the petitioner.

Due to unepmloyment and some under the table jobs my husband doesn't have much to show for on income from his last year in the states, but we did how've send his w-2 from 2012..he has lived in Sweden with me since the spring of 2012... Which are sending proof of, and our saving from here, lease agreement and written joboffer as soon as we are back in the us.. But my mother in law is also co sponsoring me, with an annual income of 120.000 dollars.. This should be enough right? And in part 3, option 1.. Does both of them fill out yes then? That they are both sponsoring me?

One other question as I've seen people on here to not leave any space blank.. However, it says on the instructions to leave blank if it doesn't apply.. So leave blank or write N/A.

Does the household member (USC) of Joint sponsor(LPR) also provide proof of citizenship? The joint sponsor has to, but no mention about household member. Any inputs?

Everyone including income besides the petitioner needs to send in proof of US citizenship/residency. So, if you have 2 joint sponsors, then both need to include proof.

Hi guys how long we should wait our manila case number, we got approved november 16 then our case transferred to nvc november 21 until now we dont have yet our manila case number.thank you

Keep calling. Can take anywhere from a few days to a few weeks.

we got approved on october 31,2013 until now the nvc ddnt receive our papers yet. is that normal? and my husand ddnt receieve yet the hard copy of noa2.. we are scared maybe its lost

Have you called USCIS to find out the status of your case?

This thread is for IR-1/CR-1 applicants. You're a K1 applicant. You're in the wrong forum ;)

Nope. Just state the facts, and give years. Make sure you still fill that year out in the form though: write 2010 and put $0.00 for income. DO NOT LEAVE IT BLANK.

Checking in.

Nope, you don't need to include the DS-260 in the IV package. The hard copy (if you print it out) and the confirmation page is for your own records. I'd suggest bringing it to the interview though, just in case.

Saylin or anyone who filled DS-261

What details we have to write in "Principal Application Information" - Petitioner or Beneficiary?

Applicant is the one applying for the visa ;)

Hello, Im just checking in. Mailed in my AOS packet today and should be able to mail our IV packet by next week. I left NOTHING blank!!! I put N/A on everything I possibly could, with reason of course. I combed over those pages and wrote our case number at the top of them all. Crossing my fingers for a simple review and no checklists! Staying positive makes all the difference in this journey! goofy.gif

Hello all,

I recently received a checklist from NVC saying a police clearance should be obtained for the file to be complete. I waited for 2 weeks and am still waiting for my wife's police clearance because it takes some time. I called the NVC and asked if i need to send in the Police clearance certificate and the lady said no. She said that the check list says that it only needs to be "obtained". You need to bring it to the interview. It is not required to send it to the NVC.

I just wanted to confirm from you guys, did anyone of you receive the same response or are aware of this?

My consulate is Mumbai, India.

You just got NOA2 it probably hasn't even left USCIS. If you call NVC they will say can take up to 8 weeks. All you can do is keep calling. But its usually 2 to 4 weeks to arrivae and another week or so for case#.

Sometimes NVC issues checklists where you can just bring the missing/incorrect documents to the interview. But it depends on if they state that in the checklist or not. If it doesn't state it, you can contact NVC and ask them to complete your case and you'll bring the document to the interview.
