just got off the phone with nvc. The uscis approved my I-130 Nov. 22 and nvc stated they just got it yesterday, Dec 10th.

Even though I requested expediting (wife is from Philippines) they said I still have to wait 10 to 20 days for case number

No its not. The file should be shipped automatically from the uscis to the nvc. If its shipped to the nrc by accident you should not be paying any fees to have it properly routed to where it should have gone.

ok thanks for the info...:)

If my husband who is the petitioner hasn't filed taxes in the states for the last 3 years, because he has been living in Sweden with me for the last two and before that he was unemployed.. Do we write 0.00 on income and submit a letter explaining why he hasn't had an income? And we have a lease signed since last week of our house in the states and two cars currently registered in my mother-in-laws name, and letter of proof of future employment as soon as we get to the states.. My mother in law is joint sponsor.. All her stuff is in order and I got her package ready to go, but I'm just worried about my husbands AOS..

I am a beneficiary, my case is completed at NVC, now i am waiting my interview date. Im about to change my address. Will this create any delay if I give them the new address? I still know people at my previous place and can still receive mail there.

Hello, Im just finalizing my IV packet and I thought I read somewhere that we should include like a table of contents to list all the documents. Is that necessary or recommended?

Definitely write $0.00 in the three fields. Leaving them blank will get you a checklist. And yes, include a written statement (with years noted) about his situation.

If you haven't already, check out the FAQ in post 2 as there's a question/answer about proving US domicile. Get as much evidence as possible. What you have is a great start.

Nothing gets sent by postal mail (as long as you gave both email addresses to an operator at NVC at the beginning of the process), so it doesn't matter if you move. Once you move though and you're still at NVC waiting for an interview date, call them up and tell them of the change of address. Make sure you also mention your new address at the interview, so they can correct the forms.

Not needed, but recommended.

Hiiii! So, I thought I was a November filer but turns out I'm December! We just got our case number today and I'm very happy even though I know I likely still have months of waiting. Anyway, I'll be anxiously reading this thread for all tips and info. Good luck, everyone! heart.gifheart.gif

This isn't like I-130 threads where you stay in the same thread the entire time. For NVC, everyone moves to the current month, no matter which month you started out in for NVC.

Hi Sylin.

So we submitted (if i remember right) all of the tax return and W2... what is tax return TRANSCRIPT though?

Tax return transcript is less pages, more concise, and actual proof you filed your taxes (copy of tax returns doesn't prove this, and when you include schedules and W2s, could become very lengthy). NVC prefers tax return transcripts (although, obviously accepts the entire tax return). Some embassies/consulates prefer transcripts, others prefer tax returns. If you submitted the entire tax return, it'll be sent to the embassy/consulate, but if you happen to have one of those that prefers transcripts, it'd be a good idea to have them on hand for the interview. They're completely free and you can request them online from the IRS. They typically arrive within a week or two.
