i never thought it will take that long.. so we have to wait for 6-8weeks for our manila case number and invoice identification number?

Don't be dismayed its the standard time response. Could be less could be more. Just keep calling and hang on.

Saylin,

So yesterday my AOS & IV packages were sent out to NVC,

And today just a few minutes ago i receive a CHECKLIST email from NVC. Checklist is pretty much asking for everything i have sent to them already. I believe its a false checklist but proves that my case has been....touched / received / in-process of review??

Yes, I'm guessing it's a false checklist based on them reviewing the DS-260. Call up NVC to confirm!

The petitioner can do it. In a lot of cases, the petitioner fills out the online forms due to a language barrier and/or low/no internet connection.

Hi Saylin,

I have one more question while doing some research I found there are two forms Form I-864 and Form I-864EZ. here is the confusion. which one I should use. I am sponsoring my wife only and I am salaried employee and have all my income in W2s.

Please help in understanding, in your FAQ it say I-864.

Thanks

If you meet the specifications on the I-864EZ then you can use that form instead of the I-864. We used it because I was the only beneficiary, my husband had the required income showing on 1 or more w2, and he was the only sponsor. Trust me, the form is sooo much easier! Just remember to not leave any lines blank and put n/a where applicable.

No, they review as they receive things. It just takes them that long to get to packages/online forms and review them.

Joining the queue of people waiting for NVC case number to be assigned...seems to me like my i130 is always at the bottom of the pile for processing...mailed petition 3rd October 2012...NOA1 date 14th November 2012...NOA2 date 1st of October and it only showed up on the NVC system on the 5th of December!! I spoke with Gina at NVC that day and she said to wait about a week before calling about the NVC case number, I did only to call back and be told that there is no standard time for receiving a case number and to wait until closer to the end of the month!! I had hopes to be able to mail all the paperwork in before Christmas and pray for an interview in late January but those hopes are quickly fading...is a Christmas miracle too much to hope for? Even if that miracle is to receive consistent information each time I call the NVC!!

ok, rant over. Merry Christmas everyone!

guyss...guys... has anyone filed a form i-824($405) to uscis so approved petitions can be forwarded to NVC? Is this really compulsory to all CR-1 or IR-1 applicants for files to be shipped?

No its not. The file should be shipped automatically from the uscis to the nvc. If its shipped to the nrc by accident you should not be paying any fees to have it properly routed to where it should have gone.
