Hi,

My fiance is working on an L1B Visa in Charlotte, NC and we have plans of getting married here in India in Jan,2014. I will be coming on an L2 Visa and I had certain doubts that I would like to clear.

  1. I will be studying there while on the Visa. I have plans of doing my Phd in Psychology. So by any chance if my husband loses his job what will happen to my studies?

Can someone please help???

Thank You

Roxanne

On a L2 you would have to leave. You would need an F1 to carry on.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

Thank you so much for the response. So what would I have to do in that situation? Would the university help me in any sort of way possible or would I have to come to India and reapply for an F1?

Regards

You would need an I 20 which the Uni would issue and either change status or go and get a Visa.

What would your Husband do?
