Hi there!

I entered the united states through K1 visa, i was then granted a conditional green card, unfortunately the marriage ended, i got married again and is currently having another conditional green card through my US citizen husband. We are going to file for the removal of conditions jointly a couple of months from now. I have a question, granted that the conditions will be lifted in my green card, and i will be given a 10 year permanent GC, how long will i have to wait so i can petition my parents.? I have two kids now and i really need help taking care of them since both my husband and i are working. Can i file for US citizenship right away once i have the conditions on my GC removed? That way i can petition for my parents? Please share your experience and advice.... I have been in the US since 2008. Do i still have to wait 5 more years before i can apply for US citizenship?

Look at your greencard. What is the "resident since" date on it?

Me: Irish/ Swiss citizen, and now naturalised US citizen. Husband: USC; twin babies born Feb 08 in Ireland and a daughter in Feb 2010 in Arkansas who are all joint Irish/ USC. Did DCF (IR1) in 6 weeks via the Dublin, Ireland embassy and now living in Arkansas.

Your window for USC filing will open 90 days from 3rd years anniversary of the GC that you are currently holding.
