This is your official letter there;s nothong to get from embassy . Yes you will need ths for medical and getting into embassy so print it.

You can always ask the embassy for earlier date. You have to wait until your petition gets to embassy. I would say Monday call NVC to see if your petition has been mailed and when they say its sent out you can start tracking. Go to the 1st post to read about trackinbg your petition through DHL.

Once it gets to embassy send them an emailasking for earlier date.

I doubt they will reschedule an interview for an earlier date.

I tried that and got simple answer "We couldn't reschedule your wife's interview."

Confirmation receipt of what? If you mean the Visa process you wouldn't be sitting at the embassy if you didn't pay. Just bring evidence if you want of showing a bonafide relationship that wasn't sent in if you want. More evidence more pics like I said before this is the time you can bring everything and anyhow you want (just be organize). I know like Lagos they love pictures the more the merrier. So just be prepared and organized calm cool and confident we will be all celebrating with you soonish.

Now everyone be safe and have a great start to a new year and your hunnies will be home soon. Just think you are now days away from forever. Is that awesome or what!! I tear up just thinking of it.

If I could throw confetti and run to all the POE's and welcome you all I sure would but just know my heartfelt love and devotion to helping and serving you is my pleasure. mmwahheart.gif

HAPPY NEW YEAR YA'LLgoofy.gif

Thanks Dwheels! Almost show time in a few days!!! ! I am now ready--my wardrobe including. lol

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL, and to you dwheels76!

Hello guys!!!I kind of got approved...but I got a 221g--apparently they lost my AOS somewhere in the process between NVC and my local embassy. Will have to wait for my brother-in-law to send in another AOS with original signature...visa still pending until I provide what's missing...of all people, how could they lose mine?! ggrrrrr! Nevertheless, my husband only sent me scanned copies of my AOS--the embassy accepted it given that I send to them the missing papers.

It wasn't so bad though. I am happy with 221g, still. it still means, I will get approved and they will send me the visa as soon as I get them what they asked for. Was thinking--IS THERE ANYWAY I CAN MAKE NVC be responsible for missing papers--maybe they could find my AOS there or something?

Some glitches, but a little more wait can't hurt. mixed feelings right now...

Thanks dwheels, dance of life, everyone!!! The 221g kind of delayed my bliss, not that it is a problem to me. hahaha! But you know that feeling you were almost at orgasm but it didn't happen?!!!! (Sorry for the "vulgar expression" but we are all adults here! hahaha!)

The interview was easy!

I was booked at a hotel walking distance from the embassy with 20 inches thick of documents. I gave the embassy a visit the afternoon before my interview the next morning to survey what I need to bring, what I shouldn't bring--their website was saying: no bags, no this and that--BUT I needed those bags!!! In short, I got the info i need by calling the embassy and visiting them. Was able to bring in most. From 20 inches down to only 7 inches of original and photocopies of documents. hahaha!

They asked me a few questions, each interview was about 5 minutes of questioning. It's the waiting that took so long! other interviewees with all docs in place took less than 2 hours at the embassy. Mine was quick at first for the biometrics (5 minutes from the time i sat down in waiting)--then it took me 2 hours waiting for the first interview (there were two interviews by two consuls). I realized the queue for me took so long because they were looking for my AOS. If your papers were all in place, it would be quick. A number of people were done in less than 2 hours.

For the Interview--They asked me basic information about the relationship, me, him, the kids. How I met him--on a camping trip they organized. I was 17 he was 25. Then the WHEN I met him--i couldn't answer. I said, i was 17 then now I am 36...then I started counting with my fingers! I said "1993...1994...???" Then the consul answered for me "1995" Then memories came rushing in, i laughed, she laughed! Then I said "sorry, I am real bad with numbers."

It was the missing AOS that sent me trembling and nervous from the calm and composed I was when i first got to the interview window--geez! I asked her if I was in trouble because of that, she said no. (If she said yes, i would have started ranting. How could NVC lose my documents!) But she said no, so I kept my calm.

Lessons learned for future interviewees--one photocopy of each document you want to bring is fine, no more than one, in this case it saved my life. But at my embassy, they only take-in on file, original documents. If I had a back-up ORIGINAL AOS with me, then that should have sealed my approved visa, but i didn't. After my interview, I went rushing back to my hotel and called my husband and said, "I told you so! You should have listened to me. You should have sent me original docs"

hahaha! I was venting.

Bottomline, Do not fully trust the rundown of documents on your Interview Appointment Letter/P4. Have the same ORIGINAL DOCUMENTS with you at the interview as much as possible--just to make sure.

On my P4 they said: Financial Evidence sent to Embassy--at the interview, there was NO Financiall Evidence sent. :-( Good thing I had a photocopy with me. But it should have been better if i had the original documents with me.

The Releasing Officer couldn't tell me how long it would take for my visa to be sent to me upon receiving my response to my 221g. I wonder what the timeline is...

wow- thanks for the details. Glad things went well for you- and do not worry about the AOS- a few more days and you will be with your spouse:)

I have copies of everything that NVC received.. but do not have originals.. however I did receive a email from the embassy itself saying they have my file now, but a couple of things I need to bring in originals such as passport..... so I guess if they were missing AOS or anything they would have mentioned!!? hope.

Can't wait to be home with my hubby in February- at least what we expect and pray for.

Honestly I just don't understand why we can't submit copies and bring originals to interview like the K1's. All these important documents floating all over the world. Just crazy.

February is not so long a wait! Yehey! Good luck! Fingers crossed!

Sigh...Maybe one day, it will all change and be more convenient for everyone. They have been continuously simplifying, so I see a good future for that. (at least the delay for me will be put to good use--extended stay in my home country to make sure I don't leave any loose ends...) Hugs to everyone!

Mumbai consulate released the appointment schedule for January as below. My wife's visa interview is scheduled for January 30 and we got the interview letter from NVC but our BMB number is not in the list below. Is that a problem? should I call mumbai consulate to verify?

You got an interview for 3 weeks from now. WOW thats soon. Why not contact them. Can't hurt. This is a very embassy specific thing.
