1. No one knows every service center has a different time table when arriving to NVC they say give it 8 weeks some less some take more just to even get to NVC than usually another 2 weeks once you arroive there.

2. Depends how fast you get your AOS and IV package to NVC and reviewed takes 30 days to review maybe less maybe more. If no Checklist than you have case complete than you wait for interview which for your country coule be 1 to 2 months depends how many slots there are and hoew many cases in teh queue.

3. Whayt do you mean how many days and months a visa is approved. You just asked all this in 1 and 2.

Here is how it flows:

You get an approved I-130 through USCIS.

Then you move to NVC where you get your AOS and IV package reviewed and accepted

Case Complete now you wait in interview queue

Once interview is assigned your case is sent to embassy ands than you show up interview day.

it is taking maybe 8 to 16 months.

If you are at NVC now or just got NOA2 I strongly suggest you join the NVC filers thread read post #1 and #2.

According to your timeline you received your NOA2 in April 2913, with no further entry. Assuming this to be accurate you should have received your NVC case number in May or June, with an interview in October or November - it all depends upon particulars for your country (Philippines). Check out your regional forum for more information as to how long it takes to obtain an interview date after NVC complete. I am only familiar with VN.

So...you should be in contact with NVC to see if you have a case number. If they do not have your file, call USCIS to see if it was lost. Mine VJ history for guidance.

Good luck.

Okay I see your timeline says you got NOA2 11/4. Sometimes it can take 30 days or more for your casefile to reach NVC so you have to give it time. On the meantoinme hope you are gathering all you need to get through NVC as fast as you can. After you get your case# the speed is really kind up to you so get your ducks in a row now.

Oh sorry disregard question no. 3....... I don't know how to edit it... Thanks so much! All your input is helpful rose.gifrose.gifrose.gifrose.gif

I just need one document which I'm going to secure and this is my passport-all the others are ready . Actually I have an unexpired passport but it's in my maiden name. It's gonna expire on March 2015.... In the petition, I used my husband's last name/surname- my question is:

-> Could I submit to NVC a photocopy of my passport in my maiden name? or should I need to renew my passport using my husband's last name/surname (for NVC submission) or;

... I will submit the photocopy of my passport in my maiden name to NVC then when my consular interview comes , I'll present my renewed passport using my husband's last name /surname (the purpose is to have it ahead of time and make it fast for submission to NVC)

TIA

You should renew your passport to your married name so everything will be consistent and the visa will be issued in your married name, hence the GC will bear the married name as well.
