Proposing to Girlfriend as She Enters US at Airport Good or Bad?

Hello, I am thinking of ways to officially propose to my Girlfriend after filing K-1 visa application. I already proposed over Skype but want to do it in person the right way and put the ring on her finger.

I was thinking of proposing with a huge sign at the airport when she arrives in a few weeks. As she comes out of security and getting her luggage I would be kneeling on one knee with a sing that says Will You Marry Me holding open the ring box.

Is this not a good idea to propose when she walks out and into my arms at the Airport?

Any advise is greatly appreciated.

Thank You,

Joel

I think it is a great idea!! She will be so excited to finally get through immigration and all that and see you, it will be the perfect culmination to this whole long process!!!

I think it's very sweet... of course if you've filed the K1 visa application, you've already proposed to her and she must have agreed (or you couldn't have filed the paperwork), you just want to make it 'official' with a real ring and all that stuff. (have you seen the youtube video of the guy romantically proposing to his girlfriend in the middle of a shopping mall... it's all very romantic and the gathered shoppers are awing and oohing... then she slaps him in the face and calls him a creep because they'd only been out a few times and he wanted to marry her already!) If you're going to make a public declaration of love, you'd better be pretty sure of what the reaction will be, or there's a big potential for embarrassment. But under your circumstances I think it's very romantic.

Yeah Good You could try to have a bunch of random passengers give your girlfriend roses as they get off the plane and then you can be the last one to get off the plane, and instead of giving her a rose you simply get on your knees and propose to your girlfriend. This is one of the most unique ways you can propose to your girlfriend.

This is certainly unique and different. It would definitely take a little more effort to have people give your GF her flowers.

I was thinking the person probably meant people waiting for passengers vs actual passengers.

I like the idea but I wouldn't use random strangers to pass out flowers. Friends/family would be better as they can be familiar with her pictures/face vs ppl who may not even be able to pick her out of the crowd.

I agree, to me this would be a terrible idea. It is a long trip. She'll need a shower, people will be taking pictures, she'll be tired, she might be sick.

Such a personal moment in front of strangers? That is not, to me, a romantic proposal.

But it depends on her personality. She may really love it

good luck

ya, sweaty, smelly, icky, in need of food, sleep and a bath.

Here's a great idea !

book a training class at the local clown college instead, and pay extra for special service with the clowns, to have them assist the proposer in a cute-sy, silly skit that , at the end, gets the proposer down on one knee.

IMO, popping the question whilst wearing clown-face and clown-gear at a clown-college is a 'more memorable' thing and of course she'll be having fun right prior to the popping of the question.

Clowns are Fun !

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.
