My husband received a NOA2 last october 2,2013.. It says in the notice that they approved our I-130 and they will transfer it to NVC.. He keep on calling NVC to get our case number but they told him that it is not yet on their system and that waiting time is 8 weeks..

Today, november 29, he called NVC again and still its not on their supystem. He decided to call USCIS. Worst thing is the USCIS told him that it may take 90 days to transfer it to NVC. how come the notice says that it would be 30 days only?

Does it have to take that long? what can we do now? can someone help us what to do?

To get a cse number after the approved email from USCIS we waited 15 days at NVC. But if they say so .... You have to be patient , you have mothing to do :( all this wait is very painful. We all are in the same boat!

lately it has been taking 8 weeks, or more if your interview at the embassy is scheduled for you then it might take a bit longer,

What are you talking about? The question is about the transfer from USCIS to NVC, interview scheduling in the embassy is a while later than that. I mean, there's a number of steps in between.

I'm the beneficiary.

Want to know what's happening with your case? Here's the USCIS tracking page (get an account and see if the case's been 'touched'!). Don't get your hopes up though, some cases never even appear there despite being successfully processed.

Lately it has been taking 8 weeks once someone gets the NOA2 before the NVC give you a case number, and IF your interview is being scheduled for you by the NVC/Embassy then it could take awhile longer. Some embassies the interviews are scheduled for them others you schedule the interview later after you get the packet from the embassy. Each embassies process is somewhat different than others, so best to find out what YOUR embassies policies, procedures are.

That is what I am talking about SOME embassies the notice from the NVC will include the Interview date, and if your embassy does it that way it can add a fe w days to the NVC process

Hollyday is right, the OP is strictly asking how long it takes from NoA2 till NVC receives their case. Embassy differences and interview scheduling shouldn't affect that time.

Call uscis again to find out from a diff operator. but it can take a few weeks too.

Dont ask how long it takes first. ask for a status update on the case and if they still got it over there then ask how long it will take.

instead of talking with the first human that answers the phone,

yer USCitizen petitioner should be talking with an ISO, a Tier 2 Human,

and try to ascertain

if the casefile is still sitting in the building at some USCIS office,

or if it was actually shipped out to NVC and if so, on what day.

As ISO can see more 'in the system' than the first human that answers the phone.

So, tell yer USCitizen Petitioner Human to call in again, and ask for an ISO, then find out exactly where the casefile is during that phone call.

Also he can try to contact his congressman's liaison about this delay and see if they can help him out.

I was applying for K1 visa, but I also waited very long for my case to be transfered to NVC. I waited about 6 weeks and some other people even longer. So don't worry should be ok.

My husband called the Hawaii Senator representative to ask for help.. They told my hubby to wait until December 16 and if there is no improvement, that will be the time they will act on it..

OK - that's weird.

What word from contacting an ISO, putting forth the questions I wrote ?
