You need to cancel the first check ASAP. USCIS is part of Department of Homeland Security. Many others have made this mistake before and the check has been cashed. So they could still cash the first check.

They can cash checks made out to USCIS. People do it all the time. Your money.

Ok so I'm a little confused on a few things,

1. How are they going to cash the check when I made it out to USCIS and not US DEPT OF HOMELAND SECURITY??

2. Could this really get approved? I had only the I-129F form, that means I was missing

• G-325A and passport style photo (Petitioner)
• G-325A and passport style photo (Beneficiary)
• Birth certificate/US Passport (Petitioner)
• Letter certifying intent to marry (Petitioner and Beneficiary)
• Proof of having met in person in the past two years

Proof of ongoing relationship

For how much of a pain it is to get the initial approval (From what some users have said in past posts) how could mine even come close to getting approved. I will call them on Monday but I have also heard they sometimes do not even bother sending a RFE or responding back to you in cases like this.

People often send in bare bones petitions like this and the check gets cashed. Usually processing is begun normally, the people wait and wait and wait, and then the petition is denied. It has happened to numerous people on this board. Sending in a check to USCIS and I-129F with nothing else doesn't mean that the OP is in the clear to sit and do nothing about it. But he seems determined to do just that.

I plan on calling on Monday about this issue, also I am not sitting and doing nothing about it, hence why I have sent in a petition with all the right information.
