I am really PO'D right now....

Last week the handy man came and installed a brand spanking new stove in our apartment , he had to pull out all the tile because the old stove was a built in one.... they puttyed the wall and said they would be back Monday to sand it down and paint it...

well, I waited all day yesterday and no handyman, he finally called around 2pm and said he would come by around 9am this morning... well, guess what? No handyman here yet

Now normally this wouldn't piss me off as much but I had planned to do all my Christmas baking this week... but I have only managed to bake one batch of cookies which I did last night... I can't bake cookies when I am PO'D, something usually goes wrong :P

And my kitchen table is a mess because it is full of all my pots and pans etc.. I don't want to put them back in the cupboards until after they are done sanding and painting..... So I have no room to really do any baking either...

I also have to get to the laundromat at some point today and do a load of hubby's work pants...

and I have to learn how to bake in a gas oven... I am used to electric ovens, which our old stove was.... we got the new stove because the stove top on the old one was messed up and was too old to fix.....

I think something might be messed up with the oven too because when I baked the cookies last night I had to set it at about 450 to get the oven to heat up to 350

Marilyn that just sucks.. I am so sorry.

Rant on/

I am so sick. Sick as a dog, really, and now at 6 am I have to get on a airplane for 24+ hours while my sinuses hurt, my head is cloudy and I've got a bad sore throat and cough. WHY COULD THIS TIMING NOT HAVE BEEN WORSE?

I'm sorry, Marilyn. I hate it when plans get changed for me!

While we're ranting...may I? What has happened to service?

Thanks.

Jiffy Lube sucks! I decided to go for a quick holiday oil change before driving to see my folks, but I ended up with a stripped drain plug. Luckily, I have a savvy mechanic who can fix it for under $15...but...still....They told me they fixed their mistake at Jiffy Lube, but it was leaking again within a half an hour. I know it's no biggie, but it's holiday stress I could do without.

I don't know if this is what is happening with your gas stove but with mine it takes about 10 minutes before it reaches the required temperature. If that isn't it, then I'm sorry - can't help. Gas ovens work the same as electric ones. Gas burners, though, generally heat hotter and faster even on the lowest setting. Good luck in getting to all of that baking!
