Good morning,

I am in desperate need of adviceunsure.png . I am currently on active duty serving in the Navy and i am getting married soon to my fiance who currently lives in Brazil. We are planning on getting married in Brazil due to the fact that i am currently deployed to Japan and her family will attend the wedding. I have reviewed the website with information on the Immigrant and Non Immigrant visa process but i am still confused on which will be the best option and ultimately, fastest. I will return from my deployment in the beginning of 2015 so we have time to prepare properly for her transition to the states. I just want to make sure i cover the right tracks in order to make our dream come. Thanks for any information you can provide!biggrin.png

I would contact the USCIS military assistance line and see what they will say. I tried to post the link and could not do it. The time is about the same, if she arrives as married it does save an AOS interview and she gets a green card upon arrival.

Not sure which forum to post this question but I am currently stationed in Japan active duty military and my soon to be wife lives in Brazil. We are currently preparing to begin the process for the K3 Visa which seems the best route so far. On completion/approval of her K3 visa, is it possible for her to visit me in Japan being a military spouse while i am on orders? If so what is the best route to take on getting this accomplished. Any information provided will be greatly appreciated.

K-3s are rarely given these days, you'll really want to plan for a Cr1. It is not a matter of what you prefer. NVC generally will close the I129F, which leads to the K-3 visa application, without your consent.

As soon as your wife is issued her visa, she will have an expiration date on it, she must travel to the US before that date, if she visits another country before that, then it is not a problem
