i am a us citizen & petitioned my mother for an immigrant visa. i am a child out of wedlock, product of incest, & illegitimate; my parents were never married nor lived together. however, in 1974, it was a big "shame" to the immediate family not to put father's name in my birth certificate. my problem is, they also put an "unreal" date & place of their marriage on my birth certificate. how would this affect the petition status or will this be a hindrance during the interview of my mother in the embassy?

hi

so they lied that they were married? then how is she going to provide a marriage certificate?

together with a copy of your birth certificate, she has to send a copy of her marriage certificate. if she was divorced, a copy of her divorce decree and translation into English of any documents not in English

Your mother is the one pursuing a visa?

This is probably best asked in the PH forum, but to get good answers from anyone you will need to be clear about what is going on. Now we know your country - that helps.

Who is pursuing a visa, in what category?

AOS for my husband
8/17/10: INTERVIEW DAY (day 123) APPROVED!!

ROC:
5/23/12: Sent out package
2/06/13: APPROVED!
