sponsor just lost one of their jobs

we are just about to send our i-864 and my sponsors also.. we got everything we needed to send taxes letter from her job etc but a couple of days ago one of her jobs fired her..is that gonna affect us in anyway?

Does he still make enough to sponsor you on just one job? If yes, no effect on you.

no that job was the main source of income but what i am wondering is if everything is already sent to them her recent check stubs taxes letter from the employer etc do they call her job/jobs when they review aos package? and see if she is till working there or just take the letter and check stubs as proof..it just really sucks we need sponsors anyway its not like they are taking care of our spouses sure i dont make enough to their liking and neither do alot of people but its not like we are asking our sponsors for anything but to sign for us.

Is she eligible for unemployment? I know some states aren't as strict as others when it comes to granting unemployment benefits even if the employee was terminated. I was placed on temporary status from full time during my last employment tenure and I was still able to qualify for the I-864 as my husband's sponsor by submitting my pay stubs and my unemployment benefits statements.

You cannot just let this go however. Either your co-sponsor will have to get a new job or you will need to need to find another co-sponsor. If your current co-sponsor is no longer is employed by the company you have written on the I-864 then that document is void.

How would they know she lost her job? Like what if she lost it after they received the the I-864 are we suppoae to call them and let them know? She actually was going on disability for a bit for a surgery now since ahe lost her main job aftrr disability yes she will get unemployment. This is crazy really at a loss as to what to do as we just got package together m ready to send it..the only other person willi ng to sponsor lives in another state and I heard your sponsor has to live in same state as you is this true?

not true, the joint sponsor doesn't have to live in the same city or state, as long as he or she quallifies

A sponsor does not need to live in the same state, they can be from anywhere and they also do not need to be related to you.

Do NOT lie to immigration about the job status- the I-864 must be current at time of interview.
