Air algerie to Paris and then Delta to Minneapolis. It was nice having only one stop and we used airmiles to purchase the delta flight. We spoke with both airlines at length and they assured us they would transfer baggage but they did not. His bags arrived the next day, and other than that he said the flight was great.

My MIL died in May and he flew air france minneapolis-paris-algiers and he said that was good too.

my husband flew with Royal Air Maroc. I think It's the best way to fly if you are traveling for the first time. It was from Casablanca to New York then New York to Florida. His Port of Entry was really easy and smooth. My husband just got his ticket at a local traveling agency in Agadir. If your fiance chooses to travel with Royal Air Maroc, then he should take his passport or a copy of the biographic page of the passport with him. The ticket price was 9400 Moroccan Dirhams. It was a bit expensive because we purchased it quickly. The faster your husband gets it the cheaper the price would be. He should go to a local royal air maroc agency and check the prices :) Good Luck!

Is flying through Europe an option? You don't need a visa if you never leave the airport...on the other hand, those cheap RyanAir jumps across the Med usually don't fly into the main airport. Plus, luggage can get expensive on RyanAir if one is moving and has big bags.

When Younes visited last winter, he flew Air Berlin from Dusseldorf. It was quite cheap ($600 roundtrip), if you can figure out how to get him to Germany. I also flew Air Berlin when I came back from my time abroad a year and a half ago and I was also pleased with the prices.

Congrats on being able to bring him here!

My friend and her husband took a trip back to Morocco with a layover in Canada before flying overseas. Canada appears to have some wierd rules that caused them to miss their flight while her husband (green card holder in US) had to decide whether to 1)Apply for a Canadian visa to pass through or 2) Sign some waiver that they just wanted to get out of the country ASAP.

Other than that-- my husband just took whatever airline was cheaper to come here with layovers in varied European countries.

Thank you all. I ended up sending Ahmed the money via Western Union and he purchased the ticket himself through Qatar Airways to avoid any of that credit card verification mess. We ended up paying around 4500 dirhams/ $500 for the ticket :)

Most people use the airlines of their countries because they offer direct flights. in many cases, the spouses might need transit visas to go through other countries if they fly with foreign airlines. Someone with a Moroccan passport can transit through most European airports without a visa--So you could try a one stop or two stop flight!

I get my tickets from here: www.kayak.com

I find Royal Air Maroc to be more expensive than its competitors.

In fact, there is nothing special about flying a spouse. a flight is a flight...what matters is the service and the safety record which one should look into. In one occasion, I wasn't treated so well by the staff of Royal Air Maroc. I usually fly with Lufthansa now.

Good luck!

Just realized that you purchased the ticket! Sorry for the late response...I just read your original posting.

If you can't change your mind, are you sure you still have one?
