I thought that the difference in my posts compared to the others was obvious. In fact, Marvin posted that in another thread that it was clear that I was joking while the known VJ racists were quite obvious in the way they post and pretend that they aren't racists.

I apologize to Janelle if I have offended her in any way.

You were very clear.

Dear god don't get labeled a racist in America

Some think everything is Racist

You got nothing to apologize for.

The 'black' portion of the name

has come about because of the type of ink that accountants use for reporting.

Retailers coined the name because finally, they were able to start showing a profit on or after that sales day.

Loss is recorded in Red Ink, Profit is recorded in Black Ink.

That's it, That's all.

Why you thinking to stir the pot, O Uncle Spookies ?

Not quite. That black ink (meaning profit) thing came about in the 70's.

But the term was coined in Philadelphia in the 60's (some say 1966) by the police. It referred to the crowding and chaos that happened when people crowded the streets to shop. The term was intended to discourage people from coming out, but the opposite has happened.

That's the end of the history lesson for the day, boys and girls.

And now for some more trivia...

Think eating turkey makes you sleepy? Do you believe that tryptophan myth? Hope not, cuz all meat has about the same level of tryptophan, and dried egg whites have roughly 4 times as much. Cheese has more than meat, as does soybeans and sesame seeds. And tryptophan is the chemical precursor for serotonin production in the body, which is synthesized into melatonin by the body.

Why do black people get mad when someone dresses up with black face on Halloween but don't get mad about Black Friday? whistling.gif

Oh Goodie !!! An apples and oranges comparison.

Great Fodder, Uncle Spookies !!!! Not even a carefully-veiled baiting post, even. Excelsior !

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

Probably just a coincidence, but SSI payments came out yesterday, the 1st is Sunday.

Who eats dried egg whites? How mush tryptophan is in sex? It makes me sleepy. Alla says it releases the "Sleep hormone"

If there is no such thing, please do not tell her

I'd be fine, but the rest of you would have to imagine my disapproving glare, and I don't trust most VJ-ers imaginations. laughing.gif

I have a great imagination but, to be honest, have never applied ot to your facial expressions.

It's the new black, apparently. wink.png

Black is the square root of Orange.

Racism is stupid. And it goes both ways. I think that the regulars know the intent of my posts.

Racism is stupid. If you meant no harm I believe you. I'm just sick of racist posts on VJ. Most of them by people who have never in their life interacted with a good black person before.

People should get a life.

Methinks your intent may have been mistaken for that of some other posters in this forum. :(

Who is "methinks" directed to?

Hopefully not me since I understand English just fine without slang or Ebonics.

There's good black people? (sorry, couldn't resist laughing.gif )

There's good and bad in people, period. Skin color has nothing to do with the quality of a person, nor the greatness of knowing them.
