Me: Irish/ Swiss citizen, and now naturalised US citizen. Husband: USC; twin babies born Feb 08 in Ireland and a daughter in Feb 2010 in Arkansas who are all joint Irish/ USC. Did DCF (IR1) in 6 weeks via the Dublin, Ireland embassy and now living in Arkansas.

Hmm, if it is that way, many women just let themselves got pregnant by USC citizens and having USC children then they could have a shortcut to gain their citizenship. They did not have to go through K-1 and CR-1/IR-1 routes to come in US. That's my 2 cents and my understanding.

My son is 8, born to me (canadian) and his dad (usc living in Canada). we went in the spring with the supporting documents to winnipeg Consulate and in 10 minutes we were told no problem and 3 weeks later received my son's certificate stating he is a USC. Citizenship does not pass over to spouse, that is why hubby is doing the i-130 for me. but my son is good to go now. Hope that helps OP.

10/28/13-I-130 Sent via USPS to Chicago Lock Box from Abroad

11/01/13-I-130 received at facility

11/12/13-Contacted Chicago Lock box to find info on our petition and was told it is being returned.

11/14/13-Received package back from Lock Box with RFE to resend it with correct filing fee.

(Money Order not drawn on US account)

11/25/13-I-130 Sent via USPS to Chicago Lock Box from Abroad with correct method of payment.

12/06/13-Received NOA1 via Email stating our case has been transferred to Nebraska Service Center.

12/12/13-Checked USCIS site for Case Status. Seen our case is in initial Review.

12/16/13-Received Hardcopy NOA1 in mail.

Feb 5-crossed border to US to see hubs and son off at airport. Flew to CA to establish domicile.

Feb 11-Case touched to update hub's change of address

Unless OP is a LPR and not a USC. There are guidelines as to who can apply. My hubby was born in Cali at birth and lived there until he moved here in which he was 29. He had his transcripts from schools, etc showing he lived there.
