Question to you

How do you know you were approved yet without your NOA2 because that is your approval notice.

We were approved by the USCIS Nov.4th and the NVC received our file on Nov.8th and it was entered

in to there system on Nov.26. Im not sure how long the NVC part takes we are just starting it ourselves.

When your USCIS case status says Post Decision Activity - "On xxx, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this i130…", that means an approval.

Jane - It could take 8 weeks (that's the standard timeframe NVC operators will tell you) before NVC can issue a case number. Most of the times, its less than 8 weeks.

I can take up to 8 weeks for the I-130 to get to the NVC and then another month to get a case number. Keep calling the NVC every few days to find out.

You don't need the physical NOA2 for anything. Just keep calling the NVC to inquire if they have your case or not.
