Frequent trips to the US on B2 visa

I sincerely doubt that grandma told the VO that she was planning to help her daughter save money by providing free child care as the main reason for her visa request. Had she done so, she would still be in Poland. Of course, few people reveal their true intentions in these types of cases because they already know or sense that the hidden agenda would put the kibosh to any visa application. Later, when they realize that continued, prolonged visits by the babysitting relstive might jeopardize their visa (and then bring a swift halt to free child care), they post innocent questions looking for a new story to tell CBP when said relative shows up at a POE, while taking umbrage with those who remind them of the legal limitation to certain activities as a tourist in the US.

You are assuming that she has not had the visa for sometime and recently applied for this purpose.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

  • 3 months later...

The OP's first posting made it sound that way....

What's up troll?

Love your "holier than thou" attitude.

If you take a look at the Department of State website for B2 visas it clearly states that paid work is not allowed. As a matter of fact, one is even allowed to enroll in short recreational courses of study. I bet if somebody said that, you'd jump the gun and scream "NO, YOU'RE NOT ALLOWED TO STUDY!" Even if that is cooking.

Have a great day!

Great last 5 months actually.

Work is not allowed, whether paid for or not, including 'volunteering'....I am fully aware that a B2 holder could take short term, non-degree seeking courses...grandma was not taking a home-study course on diaper changing.

Who said anything about a course on diaper changing? You love to twist things around.

So you're fully aware she's just visiting with friends and relatives? Again, rightfully so making use of her B2 visa.

And you have been trailing her 24/7 while she was in the US? You know exactly what she was doing every minute of every day? Impressive...but not believable.

The OP openly admitted that her mom was there to babysit so they would not have to pay for child care...that means she was working...period.
