Y'know, if the average illegal alien dishwasher were to spend, say, 20 minutes posting on VJ instead of his job....people would notice. It would cause a problem for the business they worked for because of the importance of their position.

Funny story

I was the Operations manager for a company, and we were having a company meeting. One of the secretaries made a comment, and then said " I am talking about the Peons in the plant".

I stood up and said said Ma'am. Let's take my entry level operator peon. He makes twice what you make and if he walked off the Job the whole plant would go down within in the hour.

You could take 2 weeks off and it would not affect 1 penny or impact us.

Would you like to redefine peon.

I was real popular in admin circles LOL

I think its cute that people make comments like that. The measure of your job should directly correspond to how long it would take you to train someone else to do it. Most operators can be trained in 30 minutes or less. They certainly have a job to do and certainly have more hands on than the office folks do. But people are paid their worth and there's a reason dishwashers and operators don't make much and aren't required to have college degrees. Its easy to look at office folks and act like they don't do anything. Just like its easy to look at a president and simplify the complexity of their job to make them look dumb. People did it with Bush and they sounded dumb and now they do it with Obama and they sound just as dumb.

Right. What are their education requirements? Do they have to design or create any processes? Define "train one right" because any one in manufacturing knows this is rarely accomplished outside of "should land" If they can't fix what they work with, they're not skilled labor. That's an operator.

In one meeting I was once asked "how long will it take you to build this?" My answer? "Less than 1/3 the time it takes you to talk about it"

In another meeting a Health Department officil was discussing our application for a "non-public water supply" permit (the plant had its own potable water supply) He asked..."how many people work here?" I said "20% of them"

Dishwasher, table wiper, floor mopper, snow shoveler, even the lettuce picker couldn't take 20 minutes from their job to post on VJ and not be missed.

Sorry, tone doesn't translate well online so allow me to be blunt.

I'm not impressed and I don't actually care.

So that is why you responded twice.?
