I am a US citizen

I applied for an i-130 for my husband on sep/22/2012

we have been put in AP since then

after they kept on updating our case staus on CEAC every couple of days (to AP)

the embassy called my husband yesterday and told him to bring his passport & a new medical exam so they can give him the visa

then..today they called again & said not to bring anything..that there's still something that needs to be done..

he told them that he had already paid for the medical exam

they said then drop off your medical exam but don't leave your passport.

what could this mean??

we have waited this long & just when we saw some hope..it all gone again..

how long could this still take?

It means they will accept the medical to become part of the case file but are not ready to grant the visa.

No one can tell you how long this will take. You have put yourself in a difficult position by making certain decisions to obtain what you wanted. There is nothing more difficult than A P because we have to endure an unknown length of time for an unknown reason. However accepting the fact that A P is part of the journey, you will have what you wanted in the end.

I helped my Syrian friend file for his I130. That is the normal process in Jordan. Sometimes they ask to bring the medical exam at the time of interview and other times they ask for some documents then give a decision. Don't worry everything will be fine sooner than you know inshallah ;)

the medical is always required at the interview, not sometimes. Not sure where you are getting your information. The OP was required to do a new medical because the original medical was going to expire.

To the OP, just do as they ask and hopefully you will hear good news soon.No one can estimate how long AP will last, there is no timeline for it. My husband had AP through Amman and it lasted 10 weeks.Best of luck.

I haven't seen your negative implications for a while. Anyhow, a couple of people that I know sent their medical to the embassy prior to their interview. If you don't know where I got my information from then don't bother replying and get to the point. You must have a very difficult life that causes you to keep people in check regardless of the main point.

If your point is more clear and better than mine then post it without the interference with your personal complications and ways of communication. That would serve a better purpose. I really feel sorry for whoever deals with you on daily bases

bayan -

first, they (the IV Unit) thought the AP was over, and made arrangements with your spouse to come in for final processing.

second, they (the IV Unit) discovered some mistake, and declared that the AP in fact, was not over.

Sorry - they must have found something in the casefile that still needs further review. Further review sucks, as there is always a queue.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
