Our NOA2 is valid til December 21st and I don't think I'll be ready by them - I have some medical issues that I'm working on; that will take at least 2-3 more months. Do I need to write to my consulate to extend or do they do it automatically? Thanks!

Did they send you packet 3 or instruction regarding your K-1 visa application?

Yes they did, about 3 weeks ago.

I have no idea how the US consulate in your country resolved some issue like this. But, what I read from another post here, some VJer did her sputum test and it was positive. She had to wait for 6 months for medication and after that she went to interview after her result was negative. She got approved after that. My advise is contact the US consulate in your country. Usually they will automatically extend the validation of I-129F approval when you showing them intend pursuing your K-1 visa. Good luck!

I have no idea how the US consulate in your country resolved some issue like this. But, what I read from another post here, some VJer did her sputum test and it was positive. She had to wait for 6 months for medication and after that she went to interview after her result was negative. She got approved after that. My advise is contact the US consulate in your country. Usually they will automatically extend the validation of I-129F approval when you showing them intend pursuing your K-1 visa. Good luck!
