Please HELP

Hi to every one,

I have to ask that how much time Islamabad embassy takes to send form DS-230 part 2 after NVC has transferred the case to Islamabad.My priority date is 23rd march 2003 and current priority date at Islamabad embassy is 1 march 2002.What does this mean? Please share your experience.

Thanks for your reply aussiewench.My husband is LPR and he has filed I-130 for me,now finally NVC has transferred my case to Islamabad consulate for further processing but problem is that I have no idea how much time they will take to send me an interview date.I have called Islamabad embassy, a lady told me that my priority date will become current after one year because now they are dealing with cases filed on 1 march 2002.Please give me any response if you know anything because I am pretty much confused to listen that they will take further one year after all of this.

It sounds like you will have to wait until your priority date becomes current. If they are currently working on March 2002 cases and your priority date is March 2003, it appears it will take one more year. If you husband becomes a USC, he can update the petition to reflect his change in status and you will no longer need to wait for a priority date as spouses of USCs have visas immediately available. If not, it looks like it will be a year.
