I'm new on VJ..but here's my story..

I'm a US citizen

I applied for my Syrian husband for the i-130 visa on sep/22/2012 in the US embassy in Lebanon

I also applied for the same visa for our daughter (age 3) and she got her visa a month after.

anyway..so 6 months later my daughter and I had to travel to the states because her visa expires if she doesn't travel within 6 months..

so I waited in the states for my husband and applied for a k visa for my husband there

then we just couldn't wait anymore so I came to Lebanon to wait here with my husband for the visa.

it's been almost 6 months since we left the states & now our daughter & I have to go back because my daughter can't stay outside the states for more than 6 months with her green card..

but the last month I had my congressman contact the embassy to follow up on the case see if we can speed it up..

they just sent him the regular email which states that our case is still undergoing administrative processing & they will call us once the process is complete......

so..since then the i-129f case status on uscis.gov changed to On october 17,2013 your alien registration number was changed................

and the i-130 case status on ceac.state.gov has been updated every couple of days (always stays administrative processing..)

& then! my husband got a call yesterday from the embassy! saying that the visa is ready & he should drop off his passport with a new medical exam

we got super excited..and he went to get the medical exam done right away

then..this morning while my husband's on his way to get the results of the med exam & drop them off at the embassy with his passport the embassy calls again..

they said that we don't need to drop off anything & that it still requires administrative processing

my husband told them that he already paid for the med exam

they said ok then..just drop that off at the embassy whenever..but don't leave your passport

my husband asked for an explanation for all this

the guy on the phone said that it's not the work of the embassy and there's nothing they can do..it's all up to "them" and they are just following orders.

can someone PLEASE tell me what this is supposed to mean??

has this happened to anyone here?

does this at least mean that they're working on it and we might be getting the visa soon?

I couldn't apply for a passport for her right away because I haven't lived in the states long enough after the age of 14..so I had to apply for a visa first then when I got to the states I applied for citizenship for her...she got accepted & they scheduled am oath ceremony for her last month but I postponed it in hope that my husband would get his visa & we'd all go at the same time..
