Proving domicile at Frankfurt

Does anyone know how strict the embassy in Frankfurt is regarding proving domicile? I'm the USC and currently live in Germany with my spouse (I'm a dual US/German citizen). I've been living in Germany for the lat 10 months (and before that in the US for 9 years). My parents live in Germany. What I have as proof of reestablishing US domicile is:

US bank account
US credit card
US drivers license
Proof of paying US taxes

I would also state that we would initially be living with a friend (and list her address) until we find a place of our own. But what I don't have yet is a signed lease. How important is a signed lease? Do we have to have it? It seems every embassy is a little different. And most people who proof domicile list the address of family members in the US, but in our case that's not an option. What would you advise us to do?

02/2005 - We met

09/2013 - Got married

12/16/2013 - I-130 package sent to Frankfurt Consulate

12/18/2013 - Fee charged to credit card

12/23/2013 - Received NOA1

01/27/2014 - I-130 approved

01/29/2014 - I-130 Approval letter received

02/24/2014 - DS-260 submitted online

02/27/2014 - Package 3 sent to Frankfurt Consulate

03/11/2014 - Interview letter received (interview in mid-April)

04/15/2014 - Visa approved

04/19/2014 - Visa received

09/10/2014 - U.S. entry (became permanent resident)

06/27/2016 - Filed  I-751 Petition to Remove Conditions on Residence

07/08/2016 - Notice for biometrics appointment received

07/18/2016 - Biometrics appointment

10/27/2017 - Notice: New green card is being produced

You mean without having a lease? Were you in a similar position?

Yes. Since Germany is a low fraud country, some aspects are seen with a little more ease compared to filing i.e. in Ghana.

It's amazing how many questions can be resolved with a 2 minute Google search...

Yes, that's true. But my spouse is from an Eastern European country, so this is also one of our concerns. Also, I read stories on here of Canadians that were denied because of this domicile issue. And I would think that Canada is also a low fraud country. Anyway, I guess it's hard to predict how they will decide and what their rules are.

I guess it's hard to predict how they will decide and what their rules are.

Sadly it is just like that. You never know who USCIS is. I personally only had good experience in Frankfurt, but each case is different.

It's amazing how many questions can be resolved with a 2 minute Google search...

It might be a good idea to have the friend you'll be living with to write an affidavit to say you'll be living there.

* I-130/CR-1 visa by Direct Consular Filing in London
3rd May 2013 - Married in London
7th May 2013 - I-130 filed
4th June 2013 - NOA2 (approved)
16th July 2013 - Interview (approved)
30th July 2013 - POE San Francisco
29th August 2013 - 2 year green card arrived

 

* How? Read my DCF London I-130 for CR1/IR1 Spouse Guide

* Removal of Conditions (RoC) via California Service Centre
1st May 2015 - 90 day RoC window opened
6th May 2015 - I-751 filed (delivered 8th May, cheque cashed 18th May)
7th August 2015 - Approved / GC production
27th August 2015 - 10 year green card arrived

* Naturalisation (Citizenship) via Phoenix Lockbox

* San Francisco Field Office:
1st May 2016 - N-400 window opened
20th August 2016 - N-400 filed
26th August 2016 - NOA1
13th September 2016 - Biometrics

12th January 2017 - Biometrics (again)
30th May 2017 - Interview (approved)
7th June 2017 - Oath
