Not in the Netherlands. It took me over 2 years to get my residency permit there. But I was doing the equivalent to adjusting status. As far as I understand that, that's no longer an option for those people who are outside the EU. You have to first past a Dutch language test and all kinds of other things before you're allowed to join your spouse there.

Although I obviously disagree with the executive decision, I blame the republicans equally for constantly limiting government spending and therefore making it difficult to add the necessary personnel to handle the increased workload at USCIS.

Correct me if I am wrong, I thought the USCIS are self-funded and therefore mostly not affected by the bickering.

"1. If the U.S. citizen petitioner resides abroad, it may be possible to process the I-130 at the USCIS overseas field office or, in an emergency, at a local U.S. Embassy or Consulate. (See my articles, Issues for U.S. Expats Filing a Form I-130, Immigrant Petition for Alien Relative and USCIS Beijing Filing Instructions for Form I-130, Petition for Alien Relative). Will some citizens move abroad just to expedite the I-130?"

Just wondering how long the US citizen must be living abroad to be able to expedite the I-130? My husband and I have been living in Mexico for 6 months (I am Canadian he is USC) are we able to file through consulate here or no?

Agree also though it seems as in contradiction and not logically but real as a fact.

I had the option of not leaving the US and just doing an AOS but noooooo I told myself I have to do it 100% legit. Only to find out that people who do things legally and legitimately suffer more than those who do things illegally.

When you think negative that's how things will follow you.. Stay positive and pray for your needs but don't judge others you have no idea what other families has been going through in life.

the same here.

it is like being a good and honest person has no sense in this world anymore.
