I'm planning to go home to the Philippines next month (December) to spend the holidays there and to marry my boyfriend. I have arrived here in the US on August 12 this year. However, UNTIL NOW MY GREEN CARD HAS NOT ARRIVED YET.

Is it okay to travel without green card yet? Will I have any trouble if I go back here in USA?

I'm scared now. Please reply. I need your pieces of advice.

You cannot travel without your greencard unless you have some document that allows you re-entry to the US like an advance parole (AP) but if you don't have that then you have to wait for your greencard. It serves as an ID or act like a passport for them to let you come back to the US.

What visa category was issued to you?

I have a stamp though, the temporary green card. Will that be okay?

It's F43

Okay. You're a derivative from an F4 category.

Did your petitioner pay the immigrant fee of $165 (each) for you and your parents? That fee should be paid in order for USCIS to produce/print your green cards.

You can use your visa as your temporary GC and you can travel back to the Philippines with no issues.

That's the problem. It was already paid so we're wondering why it hasn't arrived yet. Thank you for informing me that. I can come back to USA without any problems then.

You can contact USCIS for follow-up.

Yes. Already doing that. However, I just really couldn't wait to get home already because the wedding is all set for next month. I can't cancel that one.

By the way, Miss Apple21, you said I won't have any issues going home to the Philippines. But, will I have any problem COMING BACK TO USA ?
