I'm about to mail all the stuff to May for her interview and wanted to make sure I'm sending all the things she should need.

I'll send:

  1. Copy of entire I-129f packet that I mailed off earlier
Send a more recent letter of intent to marry
    I-134
    Last couple of pay stubs
    Last 2 years tax papers
Letter from employer stating position, salary and statement of being a full time employee
Copy of the NAO2 I received in the mail
There was already proof of an ongoing relationship in the I-129f packet but I'll update the phone records and emails we have since the I-129f packet was sent in.

Is there anything else I need to send to her?

We also had questions about her CENOMAR. Hers says "this cert is issued for passport/travel purposes" Is that correct or should it same something about it is for marriage purposes?

Anything else I should be thinking about or that I left out?

Thanks in advance.

Reunited for good and it feels so good!

Got this from the FAQ link.

What to send to your fiance(e) once the I-129F is approved (Receive NOA2):

1. A copy of the entire I-129f package (that you made when you sent the petition in) and a copy of information that you sent back due to an RFE (if you received one).

2. Send all originals of the documentary proof that you submitted for the I-129F to your fiance(e) for their interview at the embassy.

3. Send an original letter affirming your desire to marry your fiance(e) and your continued support of the K-1 Visa. Sign and date the form. This will be similar to the letter you provided with the I-129F, but dated much closer to the interview (it will have most likely been several months since you submitted your I-129F).

4. I-134 Affidavit of Support form. Ensure it is notarized (by a US Notary Public), with all required supporting evidence. Begin collecting the required information ahead of time, as it can often take several weeks to collect it all.

5. You will likely need at a minimum (for the above form) two to three of your most recent pay stubs and a signed letter from your employer listing you job title, start date, your salary, and the status (full-time) of your position. Begin collecting these ASAP after your NOA2 arrives. You will also probably want to include other evidence such as your banking information and other assets as required by the I-134. Specifically you will need at least 2 of the 4 options mentioned in Section II-Supporting Evidence of the I-134. See this FAQ for more tips and ueful information on the Affidavit of Support Form.

6. A copy of the NOA2 that you received in the mail.

7. Proof of your ongoing relationship. This needs to be taken to the interview! Include photos, travel documents, emails, etc from between the time you filed and present (NOA1 date-now).

Examples: Copies of phone bills, cell phone bills, emails (you can edit personal info with a marker), letters (edit personal info also), stamps on the letters (to document the date they were sent), and other written documentary proof. Provide a reasonable amount; two to four of each type. Pick a range of dates up to and including the present. You can also include a copy of engagement ring receipt (this is something that is a big optional - do not worry if you do not have a ring yet!)

Hi Binow,

USPS has Global Priorty... go to the post office and grab a blueish, cardboard, large envelope(free). It says global priority on it. And a green customs slip.

This envelope has a fixed price of $9.00 up to I think 4 lbs.

Takes about a week to get there and she has to sign for it. You can stuff this envelope to bulging as long as you can seal it with the tab. Put tape over the tab after sealing.

I sent about 80 pages of visa stuff no problems. I also send her treats and stuff in this envelope because its so much cheaper than a box.

Mike

Also was wondering whats the best way to mail this to her. UPS wants $70 to send just the packet of paper to her... any other better options?

Also was wondering whats the best way to mail this to her. UPS wants $70 to send just the packet of paper to her... any other better options?

I used USPS. I did not have the option to use Global Express Guaranteed (which would have cost $82). My fiance's zip code was not one accessible with this service. So I did the next best thing - regular Global Express. It arrived in India in 4 days, but took 16 days for my fiance to be able to get it. Unfortunately, India does not have the most reliable postal service. It was stuck in Mumbai for most of this time. He was able to track it by the number on my receipt and through his persistance it finally reached his town with about one week to spare.

Our package weighed almost 6 pounds and cost $42. With Fed-Ex or UPS it would have easily been twice that amount. And my fiance said the courier service in India is even worse than the postal system - at least where he lives.

Have you sent her packages before through the mail? You will ultimately have to make your decision (and expense) depending on the quality of service on her end.

I also used the specific instructions in Packet 3 as to what to send. It listed "Evidence of Relationship." Examples included family and other photographs showing the parties together.....I sent pictures taken while he was still here in the States.....letters, cards, correspondence and telephone records......I sent copies of cards and letters that I had sent (it was easier for me to make copies than for him). He did have the originals and was instructed to take those to the interview if they wanted to see them. I also included copies of our telephone records.

I included some chats and quite a few e-mails. I had read here at one time someone did a print screen and pasted all their e-mail listings. I also did this. Since he left in September 2005 I had sent almost 900 e-mails and he had sent almost 500. I thought this was a great way of showing how often we actually did communicate. I use Outlook Express and made a specific folder for these. It took some time to do this, but I felt it could make a difference.

It did not list a copy of our original application, but again I wanted to be safe, so I sent one.

In regards to the Affidavit of Support, there were also clear instructions here: "The petitioner must provide a notarized affidavit of support, a job letter or pay stubs, a bank letter, forms 1040 and W-2 for the most recent taxable year and proof of US citizenship. Then these were listed with a spot to check them off. I sent Form 134, copy of my birth certificate (and the original for my fiance to take), copy of my 2005 Federal tax return and W-2 form along with job letter from my employer and bank letter.

I had heard that sometimes in India, they want to see more than one year's tax return. I did not want to have his visa delayed for this reason so I also sent copies of my 2004 and 2003 returns. He was only to take this with him in case they asked for it.

I sent all of this stuff in large zip-lock bags each area in its own bag - affidavit of support, chats & e-mails, cards and letters. His consulate specifically stated only large clear bags could be brought it in so I thought zip-lock bags would be the easiest. I then had two huge zip-lock bags where I placed the consulate's stuff in one and my fiance's stuff in another. His included copies of everything and originals of copies placed in the consulate bag - like my W-2s and birth certificate.

I am a single parent - never married and this concerned me that they would want proof of my non-marital status which as you know is practically impossible. I did send originals and copies of my child support agreement where it stated the father and I were not married. I was not sure if this would be needed or not, but again.....better over prepared than under at least IMO.

Like I said, I wanted to be safe than sorry and probably sent more than was really needed. We have not yet talked in detail about his interview - hopefully tonight!

Good luck!

Try USPS. They're much cheaper. I've sent stuff to Cambodia on 4-5 day air for about $25. UPS and FedEx are the most expensive.

I used USPS to send Claudeth some things and she had it in about a week.

Your checklist looks pretty good to me but, of course, it has been a while since I gave Claudeth the documents so my feable mind might have missed something. Heck, it sounds like a really good excuse for you to just get on a plane and hand carry the documents to her, that's what I did :D

Good luck!

About USPS, that may be a good option financially, since last time I sent papers and such it was $70 by FedEx. Problem with USPS is that delivery can't be guarenteed once it leaves the US. I had all sorts of problems with letters and packages NOT getting to her, so for the important stuff I caughed-up for FedEx and it got there within 3-days. If I had not sent over 20 letters and only 2 made it to her address, then maybe I'd tell a different story.

^trying searching for an LBC courier service branch near you. you can send documents up to 5 lbs (i think) for a flat-fee. 3-5 days delivery and it's delivered door-to-door...www.teamlbc.com (that's what i used)

if you have greeting cards or snail mail letters sent from her to you...send that too. the initial interview would ask to see them if you have them.

We also had questions about her CENOMAR. Hers says "this cert is issued for passport/travel purposes" Is that correct or should it same something about it is for marriage purposes?

Thanks in advance.

Anyone know about the CENOMAR?

I also had a question on the I-134. Section 3 where I fill out her address what do I put for under the State box? Is that the same as the province over there? If I just leave it blank for state then where would I put the province?

Thanks.

BE WHO YOU ARE AND SAY WHAT YOU FEEL, BECAUSE THOSE WHO MIND DONT MATTER AND THOSE WHO MATTER DONT MIND

YOU CANT CHANGE THE PAST BUT YOU CAN RUIN THE PRESENT BY WORRYING OVER THE FUTURE

TRIP.... OVER LOVE, AND YOU CAN GET UP

FALL.... IN LOVE, AND YOU FALL FOREVER

I DO HAVE THE RIGHT TO REMAIN SILENT, JUST NOT THE ABILITY

LIKE THE MEASLES, LOVE IS MOST DANGEROUS WHEN IT COMES LATER IN LIFE

LIFE IS NOT THE WAY ITS SUPPOSED TO BE, ITS THE WAY IT IS

I MAY NOT BE WHERE I WANT TO BE BUT IM SURE NOT WHERE I WAS
