they always say that on the noa 2...they made me believe it was transferred to the embassy but really it was sent to NVV..the good thing is that it didnt stay there long...within a week it was shipped to kingston...you should start getting your stuff together...things move fast from here

Happened to me. It wasn't sent directly to the Consulate. All cases go through NVC because NVC is the one 'giving out' the case numbers and THEN gets forwarded to the consulate. :) Stay on top of your case though. Call NVC after a week or so to check if they already have your case number.

My fiance call them Thursday and they told him ---they have not receive it yet so and that if he didn't receive a notice from them within the next 5days he should call back...so he is going to call in the morning........so what your basically saying is that its a typing error? And that it was suppose to say sent to Nvc or dos instead of saying it was ship to consulate?

On what document tho because I didn't not get a case number they say they couldn't give us one as they didn't get the papers from Texas yet

Sometimes it can be up to 2 weeks before they get the docs.

He needs original docs, like birth certs., any divorce certs., prof of financial funds like assets, taxes, etc to be sure he meets the poverty guidelines.

Read the NVC forum. Extremely helpful.

When I got our NOA2 hardcopy from TSC it did say the same thing on the form. However when I called NVC they have not rec'd it yet. More than a week after we got the NOA2 letter, I got a text from USCIS that our case has been updated: approve petition sent to NVC. I called NVC 10 days after the update from USCIS and I was given a case number.

OK thanks a lot for your responses ...so am guessing that's different centers say different things,,,Texas say its ship to consulate and Vermont say it was shipped to dos or nvc

doesn't matter if it says sent to consulate or NVC on the noa2, approved petitions get sent to nvc :)
