Hello all! I sent a copy of my 1040 from the last tax year with my i864 with my husband's i485. They now sent us a Request for Initial Evidence because they want all the supporting tax documentation of the previous year. I was given NOTHING else by my accountant. I don't have a W2 or 1099 because I worked overseas and my accountant used the Spanish equivalent in order to file. What should I do? I decided to re-send the 1040, the "Spanish W2" (for lack of a better word), and an English translation. Will that be enough?

Thanks!

order a transcript and send in a copy of that.. its the easiest and gives them everything they need, as far as the US portion of your income is concerned. I don't know if its enough for the entire RFE..

Just the 1040 will not do. You need a complete copy with all forms, schedules, W-2s and/or 1099s OR an IRS tax return transcript. Looks like your best bet is to send the IRS transcript.

Agree with Jay-Kay!

FYI, folks tend to have the best success with submission of IRS transcripts. Check prior threads for verification of results.
