Hi,

Can anyone have some answers for my case? I have recieved NOA2 on 29 Nov, 06. The NOA stated: We have approved your petition and it has been forwarded to your listed consulate". on Dec 18, 06, I called USCIS and was told to call HCM US consulate. I called the US consulate in Vietnam and was told that I must have a case number from NVC. I called NVC and was told that no record on your case was found. I have no idea of what is going on. I thought every I-129F after approval it will automatic forward to NVC. Have anyone have similar case or have any suggestion for my case.

Thanks,

I'm sure someone will be along soon who can give better info than me, but all I can say is that a few people have reported recently that their NOA2s have said their case has been forwarded to the 'listed consulate' rather than the NVC. Nobody seems quite sure whether this is actually the case though, or whether they are still going through the NVC. I do know (again, just from reading on here - haven't got as far as NOA2 yet!) that files can sometimes take several weeks to get to the NVC... so maybe you just need to keep calling them until they eventually have it on record that your case is either there, or already on its way to the consulate.

Sorry... I know that's not much help! Another thing... could you fill out your timeline on here with your info & dates? It'd be helpful in keeping the stats nice and accurate and will make it easier for anyone to see where you are in the process at a glance so you don't have to explain every time you post! :)

2005 - We met

2006 - Filed I-129F

2007 - K-1 issued, moved to US, completed AOS (a busy year, immigration-wise)

2009 - Conditions lifted

2010 - Will be naturalising. Buh-bye, USCIS! smile.png

Yes it can take 2-3 weeks for cases to get transported from CSC to NVC, CSC tends to hold them and send every week or so to NVC, by the truck load.

I waited 2 weeks and emailed NVC at NVCINQUIRY@state.gov about our petition they responded with the DOS case number and status.

You need to include USCIS case number, and Name + DOB of beneficiary in the email inquiry of NVC.

OUR TIME LINE Please do a timeline it helps us all, thanks.

Is now a US Citizen immigration completed Jan 12, 2012.

Thanks,

My NOA2 said the same thing. That wording "listed consulate" seems to be showing up in a couple of NOA2s lately. It is very strange and confusing. NVC hasn't gotten my case yet either and neither has the consulate. NVC phone people seem to tell you that it can bypass them and go to the consulate, but so far I have no proof of one bypassing NVC.

Case Transferred to US Embassy in Riga Latvia at the end of October.

As Dan said, give it 2-3 weeks.

Five days after my I-129F was approved I sent an e-mail to NVC (NVCINQUIRY@state.gov) and they responded 2-3 days later that they had no record of my case. Don't forget to include that in your e-mail.

Another week later I sent NVC an e-mail (the same one) and it took them 4 days to respond. They told me that my case had been received and forwarded onto the consulate in Brazil.

They gave me my case number (RDJ2006XXXXXX) with their confirmation e-mail.

I then called NVC that night - late at night - to confirm all of this and when my case will be sent to Brazil. About another 4 days later I received the NVC letter in the mail (a standard letter) stating my case will be forwarded to Rio.

Good luck.

Just e-mail NVC and be patient. Call if need be but make sure you talk to someone. Calling at 11:30 p.m. is probably the best time.

11/2004 - Met in Brazil

09/2006 - Apply for K1

03/2007 - K1 approved

04/2007 - Apply for AOS & EAD

07/2007 - EAD approved

01/2008 - Conditional Residency approved

11/2009 - Apply to remove conditions

02/2010 - Permanent Residency approved

11/2010 - Apply for Citizenship

03/2011 - Citizenship approved

07/2011 - Moved back to Brazil
