My fiance's interview is tomorrow and I'm a bundle of crazy nerves. I just want this to be over with. I'm so nervous that they won't issue the visa within the "2-3 working day" period. He's planning his flight and "suppose" to fly out on Dec 5th but I seriously may have a panic attack if he doesn't get the visa in hand by then. Who else is in the same worry boat? :(

Does he have to fly on Dec 5th? I would really suggest that you don't book his flight until you know that his visa is with the courier firm.

This Thursday is Thanksgiving, so the embassy will be closed. It may be short staffed on Friday - in the US, most people take that day off to make it a four day weekend with their family. That might not be the same at an Embassy.

My fiance's visa was just issued today, though I know others with his same interview date got their sooner. So ours was ~10days to be issued and it's not ready yet tho to pick up. With Thanksgiving coming up I'd be VERY careful about being optimistic.

+1 advice above. I wouldn't book a ticket until visa is in hand. The embassy usually says that visas will be issued within 10 working days (although it's often quicker). Not sure where you got 2-3 from.

Yes, our interview is the 5th, and I booked the 20th in the hopes we will get it, but I know we may not. British Airway allows you to rebook up to the time of the flight for 100 pounds, so I thought getting a seat right before Christmas was worth the risk of maybe having to bump the flight back. Best of luck to you!

Its usually 10 working days after the successful interview but it can be sooner. It would be wise to Waite till your fiance's interview and then book the flight it would be highly unlikely to get the visa with in 2-3 working days in my opinion.

Hi all! Thank you for your information on post-interview! He was approved and our case was updated on Nov 26th (the day of his interview)! Then the new case was created the next day and then updated again on Nov 29th to "Issued." I'm just praying that maybe God can create a little miracle for the holidays and send our mail fast. :) Hope everyone is doing ok!

Sounds like we are on the same timeline - my interview was 26th - approved and CEAC updated to 'issued' on 29th morning. I am packed and ready to get back to work so will fly the day after I get the passport back!

Needing a miracle from above...my fiance still has a flight set for Thursday and we're praying for the courier to come thru tomorrow with the visa. I know it's a long stretch but trying to have faith and keep hope alive. Hope everyone is doing ok!

No. We're still waiting...I've been hearing a lot of people that had their interview on Dec 2nd have their passport/visa in hand already. :( The courier service has been extremely polite and they're even rooting for everyone to get their packages. It's been 7 working days thus far, not counting Thanksgiving. I called Dos and they said only after 10 working days can they start making a search and even then it can only be done by the embassy..who are impossible to contact. We're trying to be patient and we understand that this is in God's hands now but it's so hard. I feel for those going thru the same thing. Hope everyone is ok.
